Otis literally said Golesh didn’t interview yesterday lol. Our media…tweet been up 30 min and no National guys going with it is concerning. I’d like Golesh btw.
Otis and Biddy walk into a bar. Neither know what to order.

Wikipedia.....lol
He doesn't excite me at all, sorta run of the mill, rather keep Petrino with more money in NIL and defense. This has resemblances of a Chaggy hire.

Biddy is jumping on the bandwagon now with Golesh

This is the biggest take away. Pretty much anyone but Silverfield would be a good thing
I’d rather have Campbell than Golesh but Golesh is still a good coach

Exactly. I just want to have a real reason for optimism

I'm not sold on Golesh's record. How's USF's NIL funding compared to other G5s?
I'm not sure how much control he had at Tenn, so the SEC experience part doesn't really sell me either.
It could be worse. Just seems like a very average hire.
I'm up for hearing out the case for him, if anyone has anything.

It is, and nothing will change. Maybe win a game or two more..
NIL support still wont be enough with this hire to make a difference.

Golesh is an excellent recruiter and fundraiser. He’s a perfect fit for what we need right now.

NIL support will 100 percent be there

So we're going to make the playoffs? Because that's all that matters at this point.

That remains to be seen lol but he’ll have everything he needs, whoever the coach is will have everything they need.

That's what I don't understand.. if we're willing to spend that much money on NIL.. why wouldn't we be willing to get a better coach?
Seems like a foolish investment to throw a bunch of money at an unknown?

On a chilly September morning, Vladimir and Bella Golesh, college-educated professionals, fled their middle-class, comparatively comfortable existence because they feared the future and what might happen to their sons. They were forced to leave practically everything behind. They carried a few bags of clothing and $400. None of them spoke a word of English. Alex Golesh was 7.
The family boarded a 747, bound for New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport, where Golesh's aunt awaited. She was the family's sponsor, the bridge to this new world, the final ingredient that closed a two-year process filled with paperwork, telephone calls, interviews, frustration and lingering doubt over whether this carefully planned exodus would actually happen.
Golesh's father has always worked. He tried everything. He once became a driver for Little Caesar's Pizza, then wound up managing the whole store. More recently, he has operated a warehouse in Ohio. Golesh's mother works for a language translation service, which she might continue remotely.
quote:
"My approach is simply that I'm more accepting of what my young guys are,'' Golesh said. "I was different growing up. Some of my guys are different, too, maybe even more than I was. If they have nothing (materially), I know that feeling. If they've had to work for everything they've ever gotten, I know that feeling, too.
"But here's the deal. It's OK to be different. It's OK to come from a different background. I tell them, 'Man, just be you. I don't care if you're different. I just want you to be the best version of you. And no matter what, if you have the desire to make it, you're going to make it. I can promise you that.' ''

Because if we're going to spend 25-30 million nil then we need to spend 7-9 on a coach not 12-15

Golesh is a fantastic coach.

Maybe he’s got oligarch connection?

I just don't understand it, but it's not my money so we shall see how it plays out.
I'll hope for the best.

This is who I wanted if we didn’t retain Petrino. He’s gonna have to do something about Kodi Burns being his co-OC.
