To date I'm very impressed with Arkansas basketball. We are undersized but still very competitive in every single game. Those of you who follow the NCAA know that defense carries in the tourney. I have at times been a little concerned with the lack of offense. But its relatively early and the team seems to have really bought in. I've never seen an Arkansas team close out on three point shooters and play such good defense without fouling.

And recruiting is the best I've seen in years. Maybe even ever. Any concern about him getting high school kids is out the window now. I'm guessing he will fill this upcoming class out with a stud from the transfer portal?

At any rate Arkansas basketball is back folks. We will be hanging some freaking banners in the upcoming decade. So WPS for Arkansas basketball.

Oh one last thought. I don't see us beating Kentucky or Miss State this year. If we do its going to be bc we are shooting lights out from three and both teams are having off games. They are both really good. I haven't seen Tenn play. I think Auburn is beatable. Might be a barn burner. But doubt we have the size to get past them.

So far so good, but we really don’t know what we have this year. Don’t think we’ve played a top 50 team.

hes done about as well as he could so far.

I'm waiting till conference play to really determine how good we are. if we put together a tournament resume this year then I'll be very impressed and excited. if we fall short it'll depend on how short we fall. NIT is the baseline for us I feel. and I'd like to see us kick arse and take names there not just slip in and get thrown out by a nobody.

this team finds their groove offensively, they'll be fun to watch for sure.

He’s been fantastic so far, imo. He’s brought excitement back to basketball. I do see myself thinking *CALL AN EFFING TIMEOUT* at some point or points but if that’s the worst thing then I can definitely live with that.

A lot of new age people believe it’s better to let guys play and not call timeout because it allows the other team to set up their d

I remember when we bitched about mike calling timeouts and us still not running a play or knowing what was going on.

Atleast this way we don't have the extra timeout time making the end of game longer.

No reason to expect a loss when Kentucky comes to town in a month. We have beat way better Kentucky teams in past in front of 19k

Quite the contrary. I think we will beat them.

I'm liking what I'm seeing so far. As stated above, "so, so good". They look like a team. They look we organized and coached. They appear to like each other. Previous teams seemed not to "play together". One team from a couple years ago was celebrating each other's plays for the first few games, but that went away, and the play went down the drain. They are fun to watch. I've watched more games this season thanI have in the last 5+ seasons put together. That includes post season. So they have my relative attention.

With that said, I'm not all in, or even mostly in. I've been suckered too many times since they mid 90's. Caution shall remain be until there is something more substantial than beating up on relatively weak preseason.

TL:DR At this point, we are seeing all we could ask for, but we have been here before, only for it to all go to hell in a week.

The preseason is almost always fools gold for us. Arkansas just doesn't play a very strong non-con schedule. I wished I shared your optimism. After watching Kentucky and Mistake play I just can't see us winning against them. They both have talent, height and play intense D.

I am all in on Muss. Bc he did a good job at Nevada. He was a good NBA coach. And his recruiting to this point has been unreal good.

But beating UK without a center year one? I don't see it.

Booooooyyy have we gotten ahead of ourselves lol. I haven't just drank my Kool-Aid I chugged it down a couple weeks ago, but slow down y'all. Kentucky is still Calipari Kentucky. They have way more talent rn then we'll even have next year. While I'm with you that we shouldn't just pencil it in as a loss this year, saying there's "no reason to expect a loss" is asinine. There are plenty of reasons first being Kentucky's roster is still stupid loaded. I think we're a tourney team this year but let's screw our head's back on boys

Isaiah Mason and Whitt would all start on Kentucky this year. They aren’t near as good as their average team. It’ll be one of the toughest home games we play. But I guarantee they aren’t favored by more than 5

Man its easy to do. Football has been historically bad. Thank God for baseball. But we agree, coaching can only do so much for a team. Muss isn't magic. Kentucky and Mistake will both kill us on the boards. Unless we are shooting lights out we aren't going to win those. Conference play will get rough. Next year will be when we can hold our own with anyone. Vanover at 7 3 will bring us some much needed height.

Oh and the rest of that incoming class isn't bad either. I don't know that I agree that Kentucky has more talent now than we will next year. Add Vanover to what we have coming back to this upcoming class? That team won't take a backseat to KY IMO.

The talent will be very comparable, especially if Joe stays another year, but Kentucky had 4 kids in the top 25 this class and we're kidding ourselves if they're not getting 3 or 4 more this year. Our class has 4 guys in the top 100 but only 1 in the top 50. Their talent is, on paper, always going to be better. That being said, Calipari is not the best coach in the world or he'd have way more rings than he does with all that talent he's recruited. We should expect to win next year because we'll have great talent, and the better coach. Expecting that this year is expecting too much for what we have tho.

Which is exactly why no one should be conceding a loss. Dude lost to Anderson with more talented teams on the regular.

We're well beyond the point of viewing Kentucky as some unbeatable monster. We hold our own against them very well at home.

Long as it’s not the SECT, we’re good.

Come SECT time, chalk up 20 point spread for them, sure as the sunrise.
