It's been speculated for a while now, but apparently he met with coaches last week and told them of his decsision to focus on baseball and give up football.

Apparently there was no animonisty from either side.

Look for reports on this to come out probably after the baseball season to avoid post-season distraction.

Certainty on this is about 100% from what I've bene told.

It's the obvious decision to be made.

Good, there shouldn't be

He has a bigger future for us in baseball than football. Might suck depth wise if we get some unlucky injuries at the QB spot though.

I love it. He's gonna be our Friday starter next year and I think he sees it as well. He knows he needs to focus on that for next year.

Is it likely that he would go pro after this season?

Baseball he can't go pro until after his junior year.

Certainly seems to be what is best for Nolan. In reality, probable doesnt hurt as much for football as it could with the grad transfer rules in place now. Won't help this season, but not sure that it would have mattered anyway.

I mean Wick has looked pretty damn good. Might be him on Friday unless I missed some announcement

Noland is more consistent. He fills up the zone. Wick is great, but he has a tendency to fall behind in counts consistently or get wild at times.

Since we’re a baseball school now, this doesn’t upset me.

To be honest though, you can't go wrong either way. I'm glad we have both for a couple of more seasons after this one. It's a great problem to have.

Not sure who our Sunday starter will be next year but assuming he's a righty I've always thought DVH preferred the R-L-R weekend rotation so I figure Wick will be on Saturdays.

One thing for next season, I do hope we can find some more reliable lefties for relief and midweek appearances. We will need more outside of Wicklander next season.

Not only is he a great athlete, but my kids met him Saturday night, and he seems to be a fantastic young man. He will be successful whichever path he chooses. All of the players were very impressive with the kids. Love the culture that the baseball program has going right now.

I think he could have won us another game or two as starting QB. I also think this is a very smart decision on his part.

The young man has a bright future ahead of him as a pitcher. One that could lead to a nice long career in the MLB. Don't put that on the line to play football.

If he never suits up for the Razorbacks football team again at least we can look back at the Tulsa game.
