Thinking about a getaway weekend with the wife for one of the January Basketball home games.
What does the board recommend as far as where to stay?
We did Staybridge last time.. like it... open to other options.

Air Bnb is a good shout for something different honestly.

Can probably save some money relative to the hotels too.

Stay at a hotel in Rogers instead. No real nice places in Fayetteville except maybe the Inn at Carnal Hall.

Could check out Eureka Springs. Not too far away.

Kind of depends on what you want but the Chancellor in Fayetteville is my choice; best on proximity to campus. Almost any of those along the freeway at the Farmington and Lake Wedington exits will do.

The Embassy Suites and Aloft in Bentonville/ Rogers are some of my favorites too because of the really nice surrounding area with lots of stores, restaurants, etc.

This.
For people that don't make it over this way too often, Eureka Springs is always worth a visit, IMO.

Shouldn't have any problems finding acceptable accommodations over there either. Especially this time of year. You can get reduced rates on any room in town by simply asking for a discount. Lol.

The Basin Park Hotel is pretty nice IMO

ETA: with the way traffic is here in NWA these days the drive from Eureka Springs to Fayetteville is about the same now as the drive from Bentonville to Fayetteville. And it's a much nicer drive.

Especially if you're doing a get away with your wife. Enjoy the city and come back to Eureka.

Good advice! She's been wanting to rent a cabin on the lake. Maybe we will go that route.

If you go the cabin on the lake route you should check out Lake Lucerne. It's nice out there.

Also might be some nice places (AirBNB) in Holliday Island.

My buddy owns Cinnamon Valley Cabins in Eureka. It's unbelievable. So tranquil and nice. You should check it out if you want a cabin.

In Eureka I do like Cinnamon Valley—stayed in a few different cabins there many years ago. Other than that I’ve stayed in a Best Western there several times (because of the event facility there) and the Crescent. Lots of places to stay there.

Does Cinnamon valley have a lake view? Not a deal breaker but would be a plus.

This is my favorite place, and it's very close to Baum Stadium:

Deep Wood House: LINK /

Reasons:
Super close to town and conviences
Representative of local architectural style
Access Mt. Kessler trail system by walking from the house
Feels remote, but is very close.

Not that I remember as it’s on the south side of town. But I recall them having a pond or ponds and I think they refer to them as “lakes”. Here’s the link. LINK If you want on or around the water Holiday Island is probably where you want to stay.
