Basketball Question

I just saw that between Barford, Macon, and Beard our guards accounted for 46 points and TWENTY assists the other night. As a team they had 28 assists with some very nice interior passes from our bigs.
This team is super impressive. By any standard. I think we may have the best back court in the country. Can anyone think of one they would rather have?
My only concern so far is Gafford's ability to post up other bigs, but his shot blocking is outstanding and his athleticism is off the charts. He's gonna score a whole lot of points in transition situations this year.
I think Arkansas is a top ten type team right now. What say you?

Top 10 is a little bit high right now, but I think top 20. We may lose some early on with the tough schedule, but Mike seems to get his teams to peak down the stretch.

I'm looking forward to tonight's game. If they roll these dudes up like they did Samford, we will be looking at a special season, IMO

I think this is a really good team, but I wonder how they will react when they aren’t hitting all of their shots like they were against Samford. Macon was on fire in the beginning of the game and then Barford lit it up early in the second half. We are basically a jump shooting team.
Thompson doesn’t have any true inside game to him and Gafford is still too young and is still developing to true rely on right now.

I wouldn't say we have the best backcourt but it is a backcourt I would put up against anybody.

While I want arkansas to be good, I hope they don't start peaking til Feb/March/April. You see it every year where teams peak too early and then in Jan/Feb they can't find a win.

I could very well be wrong, but I don't see a Mike Anderson team having this trouble. Their entire game is predicated on running the floor. Causing turnovers and sprinting the other way. That isn't something that suffers droughts as much as a team who relies on halfcourt offense.
It's like basketball for dummies. "Just run, dummy." Haha
I think this team will just get better and better as the season rolls on. On the nights like the other night where we have multiple players with a hot hand we will see the Hogs beat teams by 30 or 40 points.

We won't beat teams by 30 or 40 if the refs call a foul every 20 seconds.

This is true.

With these players they should be really good...but Mike always seems to do less with more. Hopefully this year is different.

Must be why he's finished higher than the preseason projection the majority of the time he's been here
