I don’t have a problem with him leaving nibler in too long. It’s a meaningless game, I think he was trying to answer the question “can this guy work himself out of a jam?” Now we know the answer is no, Same with the question “can eves pitch effectively 2 days in a row?”

This is kinda what I was thinking too. Maybe I’m too deferential to DVH. But yeah it’s a meaningless game, we are probably on the road for a regional no matter what. It’s not like we have a stable of good arms to turn to in the bullpen. DVH knows we’re gonna need Gibler to work out of this funk to have any chance at a deep run. I bet you see him again in Hoover.

The Arkansas Baseball Twitter game is the most elite thing in our entire athletic department right now.

Yup. Same shite - just like how every subpar program has hired this or firms like this to manage “in game experience” and taken away any semblance of what each school’s unique traditions are/were. I don’t want to hear fricking Little Wayne and honestly the players don’t care that much - they want to hear the fricking crowd roaring and they don’t give a shite if Johnny Cash or Drake is playing as long as they’re being paid, supported by fans, and winning. Winning fixes everything. That’s why I hate ADs like Long and Yuracek who can’t keep a pulse on their programs because they have no personality or common sense.

Alloy looks to have injured his hand. Big blow to our defense.

I'm surprised DVH had such a quick trigger at 0-1 instead of leaving him in a for a few more pitches to see if he could work it out.

Sounds like Aloy is done, hamate injury. May be a good thing as he was starting to slide back to old self again.

That sucks for Kuhio. He was starting to put the bat on the ball consistently after a slow start to the year.

Fortunately, in comparison to other injuries, it's not too long of a recovery. But he's for sure done playing this season.

That leaves three teams still in the mix to host – Oregon State, Arkansas and USC. Oregon State being inside the Top 16 would not surprise us at all, given where we and other human rankings have the Beavs. I would keep an eye on how Oregon does at the Big Ten tournament. I feel like one of those two teams hosts on Selection Monday. USC doesn’t have the resume to host, but if the committee decides to be all about the RPI, the Trojans would be an option with an RPI of 8. As for Arkansas, yes, Arkansas, I had this discussion with our Mark Etheridge this morning. The Hogs finished the regular season with a 17-13 league record, and are now 18-13 aggregate after beating Tennessee on Wednesday. The Hogs are up to 24 in the RPI. What if the Hogs beat Texas on Friday, and then rattle off another win on Saturday? That would Dave Van Horn’s club at 20 SEC total wins, while also having an RPI inside the Top 20. That would make Arkansas an incredibly compelling host candidate.

Kozeal is so good. Gonna hit 20 bombs. 22 would put him 2nd all time single season.

Update: he hit #20
