quote:Yep. Just as much of a detriment to the team too.
Bud Walton atmosphere has been shite for years too outside of 1 or 2 games a season. Not buying the baseball excuse.
I have so many vivid memories of Baum getting on top of an opposing pitcher and directly impacting the game. There were so many times our hitters didn't even have to make the clutch hit because they'd just walk us in or throw it to the backstop while the crowd was at a fever pitch. Baum hasn't been at that level in years, and the most recent instances are exclusively in the postseason. It wasn't always like that.

They've priced most of us "George Cole field" boomers out of tickets.
You shite on your 30-40 year season ticket holders and this is the result.

I know it’s been said, but I was irked at how many open seats I saw on TV on Sunday. Great seats at that. The Hog Pen looked thinner than usual, too.
It was a beautiful Sunday and a rubber match game against a rival.
What’s crazier is that I wanted to go but checked ticket prices and they were insane. I assumed it was going to be packed given the price point on the secondary market.
Hopefully people show out for OU this weekend. It’s graduation and supposed to be great weather. Plus it’s probably the last chance to see the Omahogs in Fayetteville this year unless we go on a tear the last 6 games and sweep out.

Brumbaugh is a shining example of how taking top recruits out of HS is a bigger 1 year gamble than taking more proven portal guys. That jump from local HS pitching to D1 is huge and can very often take at least a year to adjust and some guys never do.
Brumbaugh was our 3rd highest rated commit by PG and #77 overall. After the draft guys signed he ended up top 30 to make it to campus in the nation. He was the unanimous preseason SEC freshman of the year. And he ended up absolutely useless.
Now he'll probably enter the portal and go home to OU or OSU and we wasted a spot on him for a year instead of maybe another portal guy that could have contributed at all. Hopefully he won't do that but it's 2026.

You left out “and win the Golden Spikes Award en route to leading OU to a CWS title.”

Another year of being the 2 seed no host wants. Still refuse to get my hopes up too high, but I'm down to make a host mad on selection day.

I’ve been extremely hard on this team, but the approach at the plate has improved a ton. Especially Aloy, he stopped chasing the outside slider for the K. Love to see it

At this point, I’m hoping for Lawrence or Tallahassee.
The chance to continue our multi-sport domination of KU would be glorious.

I’ve been hard on Nate for years (deservedly so), but he’s done wonders this year in fixing Aloy’s swing and approach, changing Pompey’s approach, and bringing along the freshmen to where they have contributed in big games.
I still have too many doubts about our lineup, our fielding, and our pitching depth, but he deserves credit for the lineup (and our record) not absolutely cratering this year when Brumbaugh went tits up and we had to play guys out of position. Crazy to think that we effectively don’t have a shortstop, a first baseman, a RF, and a day 3 starter and we’re still going to finish .500 or better in conference.

You say "another" year like it happens often, lol. The last time we were a 2-seed was in 2022, and 2015 before that (we did miss the tourney altogether in 2016, though).
Interestingly, both of those times were the Stillwater Regional, and both times we advanced to the CWS.

OU is throwing their ace today. Seems like neither coach is playing for a sweep.
