I'm going with 40k.

20k @ half.

When reached by Best of Arkansas Sports for an update on ticket sales, the UA revealed it has “allocated” between 35,000 and 40,000 tickets for the Aug. 29 matchup in Little Rock that will also be televised on ESPNU.

That number likely includes tickets actually sold to individuals, as well as distributed to students, corporations and other organizations.

“We are still awaiting some groups to confirm their total, so that accounts for the range,” a UA spokesperson said. “Based on sales pacing to date and with a week left, we are projecting to come in around a number comparable to last year.”

The Razorbacks had an announced attendance of 44,397 for last year’s 56-13 beatdown of Western Carolina, another FCS program, at the historic venue in the state’s capital.

In 2017, the Razorbacks opened the season against Florida A&M on a Thursday night and drew a crowd of just 36,055. At the time, it was the UA’s lowest attendance for a home game — in Little Rock or Fayetteville — in more than two decades.

I'll be there begrudgingly. I'll watch my son play in the stands, watch him at halftime and then hopefully convince my wife that we can go home. I hate war memorial with a passion.

Don't worry. I saw an article last week that said WMS hoped to have all it's problems corrected before the upcoming game.

I mean, they've only had a year to get it ready. I'm sure they'll make it!

According to some reporting by THV11 in Little Rock, there have been some changes at the venue to hopefully make it a much better experience for those who do show up for the game.

In an effort to fix the ticketing problem, War Memorial has increased the number of ticket scanners to 60, as well as upped the network speed on which the scanners operate — all of which will hopefully lead to a quicker entry process.

As for the heat, two large fans that are 18 feet in diameter were installed on either end of the venue, with smaller fans located at each concession stand. The goal of the fans is to create some air flow in the concourse, opposed to otherwise hot, stagnant air.

Finally, and this is probably the biggest addition after last year’s water bottle fiasco, War Memorial Stadium has installed “water monster” stations that hold 250 gallons of cold, fresh water. Fans will be permitted to bring in an empty water bottle or use cups provided to get that water for free.

Wonder how many would show up in Fayetteville with a 90+ degree kickoff against a sure win that is going to be televised on a work night?

62k+ on a noonish kickoff consistently for the past couple of decades during the heat.

For reference 19k show up for work night basketball games that top off at 8pm. The only reason more haven't been in attendance is the building will not hold more.

Obviously this isn't dependant on the central Arkansas crowd or WMS/simmons would be sold out and at capacity for every game. It's isn't for whatever reason is seen as the convience excuse for the year. The opponent being a consistent excuse.

This is historical game against an instate opponent that very few have seen happen during their lifetime, that should be enough for 40k+ to show their support for the program, but central Arkansas fans feel entitled for some unknown reason.

I can guarantee you the percentage to capacity would be higher. I can guarantee you the university would get all the concessions. I can guarantee you the university would have more students in the stands. I can guarantee you the university wouldn't have to bus the entire team, support staff, cheerleaders, band, athletic trainers 3 hours away for a home game. War memorial and playing in little rock is at the top of the list of reasons why no one takes the hogs seriously. I say all this as someone who lives less than two hours from war memorial with almost the entire drive on interstate, who lives 4 hours from Fayetteville with only 45 minutes of that being on interstate. I would rather drive backwards up the pig trail in the driving rain than keep watching in little rock. Hate that place more than Texas but my kid will be playing so I'll be there for a while anyway.

60-70k

This argument is stupid. It would be the first game of the season, which means students would be in attendance as well.

There is absolutely no logical reason to have any games, at all, in Little Rock, AR.

Being close to home I was thinking about going after work. I’ve scouted ticket prices but I’m wondering realistically what really good seats would sell for close to gametime considering of course in that smaller stadium you have a good view from just about anywhere.

Little rock fans are better.

The Fayetteville fans yell if you stand up and make noise.

Probably right. For whatever reason NWA has that hopeium every year. They will never penalize poor decisions by the administration no matter how badly the football team is ran. Just like the Democrats.

I'm a school admin and have to be at a jr high game tonight... otherwise I would be in LR calling the Hogs.
Shouldn't be about which stadium they are playing in ..... should be about the HOGS..... PERIOD.
