I really hope Casey Martin wasn't just a fad. Dude needs to seriously take a look at his approach at the plate this offseason.

Losing 2 games by a combined 2 runs in the CWS is not underachieving for a team that has 2 freshmen in the starting rotation and 5 freshman/sophomore position players.

Getting shutout by FSU and performing a fake rally that rivals some of the Cubs best against TTU is.

We did get pretty unlucky vs FSU but our situational hitting was atrocious in both games... Casey Martin fielding mistakes killed us too.

He still had a good season but until he decides that he's not Sosa and Soriano he's never going to get where his talent should lead him.

Needs to be a 3rd again next year. 23 errors is insane at short.

Replace 6 everyday starters on offense and two weekend pitchers (with true freshmen), go back to Omaha after winning the division we were picked to place 4th in and that's underachieving?

That's ancient history, let's deal in the present. This team was the #5 national seed and scored 4 runs in Omaha and went 0-2. That's underachieving.

It's not name calling. It's a title that accurately describes you.

Forgot to mention we were the Vegas favorites along with Vandy to win the whole thing, and we were the first team eliminated. Not sure how you can call that anything but underachieving.

It's easy. I'm capable of keeping the season within context instead of blindly raging at anything.

Vegas: "Arkansas is the favorite to win the College World Series."

Arkansas: Goes 0-2, first team eliminated.

You: "This team really overachieved."

And you're calling other people idiots.

Vegas from a few days ago or polls from January. Hmm. Which do you honestly think is more valid? We all know the answer to that, no need to keep digging your hole.

You're talking about the team on paper before the season started, I'm talking about the team that actually played the last two games.

You're using betting odds from random bookies in Vegas as your linchpin for saying a team replacing 6 starters and inserting two true freshmen in the weekend rotation underachieved because they weren't the best team in the country.

You're still living in the past. Arkansas was the favorite for a reason, and they went 0-2. That's underachieving.

Vegas didn't even pick us outright.

Underachieving is what LSU did this year.

Same as his hitting issues. Tries to hard and loses focus. Fundamentals!!!!! Seems to not be a pressure player. Love to he how many of his hits came in close games with runners on. Maybe we need a psychologist on staff after last year.

Martin
Goodheart
Kjerstad
Opitz
Nesbit
Franklin
Boulware

That is a LOT of the lineup returning with a ton of experience. We'll always have a freshman or two emerge and/or a transfer/juco. Good chance we are better at the plate next year than this.

Pitching wise, while losing Campbell is a blow we should be better depth wise. Not having to rely on 2 true freshman starters is a big plus, and hopefully those guys take off with summer+fall ball and we will have a nasty 1-2 next year with just average offseason development and a full years experience at this level.

Bullpen will probably be a big worry again, and possibly the 3rd starter but we'll have to see who returns and who doesn't.
