The shite that has cost us this season showed up. shite hitting against lefties, not laying off junk pitches, not playing small ball when its obvious, not knowing how to hit offspeed, guys trying to swing for the fence every single AB.

FSU has a magical run going and it was still a 0-0 game through 8 innings but they did just enough.

Last 18 innings in Omaha: zero runs.

Not going to win many games without scoring.

We looked as dead tonight as we did in Game 3 vs OSU.

Casey has no chance of sniffing the majors without some very stern coaching to force him to go the other way.

He'll strike out 200 times in the minors if not.

I didn't have an issue with the play that he got hurt in, poor execution but it's a play that could easily be made.

Scroggins reaching up and touching it screwed that play up.

I've actually silently been so thankful that our pitchers haven't been dumb enough to try to barehand hits like that during the year, then FSU's pitcher does it twice in one game then Scroggins comes in and follows suit and blows up a double play. Today had everything. By far the most frustrating baseball game I've watched since CWS Finals Game 3.

Realistically, the next game should be the hardest one we have left before the finals. This whole side of the bracket is weak on pitching. It will come down to bats going forward for not just us but for Michigan and FSU.
Wishful thinking maybe, but I do think OSU had to battle back from an early loss last year

If TT starts a lefty, I'm draining my bank account to bet on them. Ha.

Michigan is not light on starting pitching by any means

Hopefully TTU has a shitty guy going because they could score 10-15 on us

We're not winning 4 games in a row without Campbell regardless of the teams.

Martin fielded the ball cleanly scroggins touching it ended up having no affect. Martin has to just not be a dumbass and try to tag the other side of the runner

It actually would've been a much easier DP chance for Martin had Scroggins not try to barehand it.

I expect TTU starts - RHP Caleb Killan (Jr., 8-3, 3.93 ERA)

Bonnin was quite terrible for them, would imagine he is further down than that unless they want to play the "revenge" angle or something.

I don't think he has that mindset but idk. Our staff said he's a reliever and he wanted to start so he left, then he performed like someone that should have been a reliever in 2019 for TTU.

In 78 innings as a true freshman, Noland walked 13 batters.

In 59 innings as a sophomore Bonnin walked 41.

This right here. I try to give coaches the benefit of the doubt, but there was a late inning when Opitz got a leadoff single and Nesbit was up next. Why on earth do you not bunt Nesbit right there when he's our worst hitter and we had no outs. He swung away and struck out and I was just left shaking my head wondering why in the hell Dave didn't have him bunt.

For me it was when we had a runner at third with one out (the 8th I think?) and the first baseman was playing back. The Arkansas radio guys were begging for the bunt. "Just push it right and there is no way they'll make the throw to home in time!"

Instead someone who is in a hitting slump swung for the fences and we had yet another scoring chance pass us by.

I know we hang our hat on Gorilla ball but there is time to play it smart and go small.

And late in a 0-0 game is the perfect time to do it. Just kind of mind boggling really, Dave usually plays it smart.

Well...Sometimes you’ve just gotta tip your cap to the opposing pitcher.

I am with you guys...deep down we all know DVH loves small ball. A bit puzzling why he didn’t take the safe route last night and lay down a few bunts to move runners.

FSU had us pegged. They knew we have had trouble with junk throwing lefties all season. Kid had probably the game of his career and we may have made him look a bit better than he really is. Credit him though for making us chase.

Overall it was a great game if you like pitching duels. It’s unfortunate that a hit batter, crazy play at 2nd, and sac fly is what won the game for FSU. Hopefully the baseball gods take our sacrificial game into consideration and help us get another shot at FSU on Friday.
