Yeah, let’s not be realistic

I gave a realistic assessment of what it would take to compete in the SEC with the schedule we have. He would still have to have a good play caller and DC or we could get everything I said and still go 5-7

This isn’t a reply to anyone….

For those of you that think this is not a big deal please tell me the last time we had 2 4 star instate defensive tackles? The hardest position to recruit in college football. These are guys that we absolutely can’t miss on. We always complain about our defensive line recruiting and we have 2 dudes that are highly touted guys and they were going elsewhere 12 hours ago. Plus a hopeful dynamic playmaker and what seems to be a decent project at LB.

I by no means am saying silverfield is ‘the answer’, but you absolutely have to take these guys regardless of perception if they are in state kids.

I was pissed yesterday but at least this guy is going up and shoring up the best talent in our own state. If we can’t recruit here, we can’t recruit anywhere…

So you can’t compete in the SEC with 4* kids? Ok tell Vandy that.

Sam Pittman found a way to win 9 games in this conference.

We were a competent coaching staff away from being a 9-10 win team this year. We don’t NEED 5 stars, just good staff and evaluators. Hell we were right behind Ole Miss in talent composite this year.

it wasn't NIL funds causing them to leave, it was lack of studs being fed.
Tell that to Chris Paul, Jalen Catalon, TJ Metcalf, Greg Brooks, and Joe Foucha.

Didn’t Paul directly call out our lazy, loser culture as his reason for leaving?

It’s pretty obvious Sam and the crew were playing video poker and Uno the last 2-3 years as opposed to evaluating and recruiting talent.

This team couldn't finish a bowl of ice cream. I'll agree that it was coaches in the sense that they didn't get winners out of the portal.

The massive portal class is the key. A few impact studs from HS. Are one of these guys that? Maybe. There are better prospects though. Even with these commits we are in the 50's. Give me 14 4* and you have a good chance of pulling a few impact players from it. 3 of them isn't that though.

Nothing about today keeps us from sucking absolute arse next year. Period. I'm sorry. I wish that wasn't the case. Don't shoot the messenger.

Well so much for the idea that Arkansas had lost its connection with young fans and players.

Personally, I wouldn't have thought that Silverfield would actually just go sign the top 12-15 in state. I didn't he was smart enough to do that. Some of these guys aren't SEC players, let alone starters. However, there is good will to be built up by doing this.

I appreciate smart gestures like this.

If nothing else they’re great depth, especially since we had zero on DL this year.

The defensive guys didn't get the ball?

I'm shocked and don't know what to say.

Nah you're just being intentionally obtuse.

You also responded to a post talking specifically about in-state kids and how that doesn't necessarily lead to them being any different in terms of financial appeasement in the NIL era or having any greater impact than any other recruit with over half of your examples being out of state recruits. You didn't even argue the topic.

NIL hasn't been th problem, it was a scapegoat.

OC and QB can't find an all sec TE who transfers to an SEC rival? NIL.

Fastest WR on the roster and the OC and QB can't find him on the field so he goes to OU where he is found every game? NIL

Sategna couldn’t catch. We didn’t want him!

Things would have been different if Unc hadn’t broke his hip. He was the guy.

Imagine if we had an Isaac Teslaa for two seasons to improve redzone touchdown conversion rates and use for third down possessions.

Probably too slow, runs bad routes, and had bad hands.
