It would have been impossible for him to win the press conference right away. He's not super charismatic or engaging. Just puts off nice and energetic vibes. My theory is this gave him time to "show" his work ethic where it matters most- in state.

That would be incorrect Hunter will be chairing the committee and won't be back in the ville until Wednesday night/Thursday.
They did learn from Muss to hit the ground running with social media and media appearances.
One of his first stops was practice to meet with Cal.
The delay will change the tone and questions asked for sure.

its a 30-45 min flight from Dallas to Drake. He could have done both.

Maybe already said here…but I think it’s a good move to delay it,

If tweet fails to load, click here. So for a month prior to being hired officially, Silverfield was trying hard to flip guys to Memphis from OU, Missouri, etc..? Sounds like he had a memorandum of understanding in place at Arkansas for a month prior to being official

Imagine how our fans initial reaction to him being the hire would have been different had his record been 11-1 & not 8-4
At that point who’s to say one of the bigger schools wouldn’t have snatched him up first. Having him locked up a month ago might’ve stopped that from happening

I'm telling you if he flips Archer and gets the Lindsey kid his approval rating with the public will go sky high.
Again not saying he'll win or he's even good I'm just saying public perception from the masses (not us die hard fans on message boards) is that Archer is the biggest fish in a long long time.
