Sucks for some, but probably the right move with the way things work now. You're going to have some pissed off people, but they aren't the ones throwing money around. NIL is the name of the game, if that helps I'm for it.

Killed the vibe in BWA. Entire rows empty, but at least the athletic department got paid.

Did it? I feel like the vibe in BWA has been shite for ages. Even Muss during Elite 8 years had to beg fans to show up (Minus Kentucky or Florida type games) and did everything he could dancing around out there to fire them up. Muss really got the students engaged at least.

GOOD! people donating $1000 or less and sitting on the 40 while I'm at BMS is just ridiculous. I get that loyalty is a thing but when there's less than 10k donors total you've got to figure out a way to maximize revenue in today's college football world. Like it or not you've got to do this to try and complete.

Just do the math. Say you lose 5k donors who donate 1k. All you have to do is get back 1k donors who donate 5k to break even. This WILL increase revenue, guaranteed. It did for baseball and it did for basketball.

Not to mention how awful the gameday experience is for football too just like hoops.

Yeah!!! To hell with all that money and investment that came before that got them that privilege. Frick em!!!

The Foundation should have a really easy time marketing that.

They are slowly and sure losing interest from most of the state. It's no longer 'Arkansas', just another semi-pro outfit that charges too much money for an inferior product, as far as football has been going.
The only problem with capitalism (and I am saying this as being in favor of it as opposed to other options) is that everything, EVERYthing, is about money.

The truth is guys we aren’t doing anything others aren’t already doing. We’re actually behind on this. You can’t bitch about the product but also bitch about the solutions. Obviously the sport was better 15 years ago but we aren’t going backwards anytime soon. You don’t need to turn your nose up at older donors but It shouldn’t just be a social gathering for alumni from 1976. The no.1 goal should be to win football games. If that starts to happen all the bitching stops. If this helps us get there no one will remember the few that had to make sacrifices.

"throw gobs of money at stuff mindlessly" is not a solution.

sitting on our hands and waiting for a rose to grow out of our a-hole isn’t either. And believe it or not, lots of problems are solved by throwing money at them. All of them almost. That doesn’t mean throwing money at a problem fixes it but normally the problem won’t be fixed without money. You need finances and competence

What we've been doing for the last 10 years.

Until someone dumps mega $$ on the football program we'll continue our downward spiral.

No. It is.

You just have common sense and decency. You don't believe 18-22 year-olds are worth everyday working people dropping thousands of dollars on college sports. This is not a wrong opinion to have, and it's shared by many.

However, spending an arse-ton of money is the ONLY solution to the problems on Razorback Road.

Edit - Just ask Ole Miss.

So if they donated 1000 for 40 years and I've donated 5000 for 20 years who is more valuable?

If invested correctly, the 40 years @1000 is almost double yours.

New money vs old money. This is not an old argument.

Old money is the best bet.

The difference is it's not invested for the most part. The foundation has expenses, large ones. Contracts that increasingly become greater ever year. So it's more of a static fund year over year than an investment portfolio.

People are given the opportunity to match if they don't like it that's their choice. Like it or not other people will fill in the spots.

They've also had 40 years to up that donation and haven't done it. There was a guy on the donation page that said " we've been donating 600 ever year for 35 years for our seats in 104 now it's going to cost us x. Well yeah bud, get with the program. You're underpaying.
