In adding Moody, Arkansas has nabbed someone who has shown himself to be a high level shooter at times during his high school career. In fact, the 6-foot-5 Moody came into this spring and summer with the reputation of being of the best shooters in the entire class of 2020.

Now it is imperative to note, Moody seemed to get into a funk while playing with Brad Beal Elite this summer. While his overall numbers looked fine, he averaged 16.1 points and 4.2 rebounds per contest, Moody didn’t shoot the ball as well as normal.

Moody only shot 28 percent from distance during the spring and summer. He was 32-114 from deep in 20 EYBL games played, and that marked a major departure from what he had been in the past.

With that said, Moody did shoot 79 percent from the foul line, and 54 percent from two-point range, so his shooting didn’t fall off in any other way other than behind the arc. Given that small sample sizes apply, at the moment there isn’t too much to worry about with Moody’s shooting funk.

In theory we could have all 5 of the Arkansas kids committed before December starts. The hardest test comes this weekend.

I'm sure the scouts know more than me but Moore is maybe my favorite of all of our potential signees outside of Kyree right now. Looks like he has already grown into his frame. I understand why from an overall potential perspective this could be a negative but his coordination and footwork are going to allow him to make an impact immediately at the college level. Seems like he would be a 4-year type player that could be the glue for us for a long time.

One thing that I have found interesting about the Moore announcement is that it was moved. It is currently scheduled for an hour before the Arkansas game starts. Memphis starts a game an hour before the announcement. Could be nothing but found it interesting regardless.
