2. ARKANSAS

quote:

The class: Nick Smith (No. 8), Jordan Walsh (No. 26), Derrian Ford (No. 54), Barry Dunning (No. 90), Joseph Pinion (No. 95)

The skinny: The Arkansas fanbase is incredible excited about what Eric Musselman is building in Fayetteville and the fact that an in state five-star like Smith is the headliner of the class has only whipped them into more of a frenzy. Long, bouncy and creative in the pick and roll, Smith can really score the ball. In Walsh, the Hogs are getting one of the most dynamic athletes in the class. He’s long armed, plays way above the rim and is a magnet for the ball. Another homegrown product, Ford is a pure scorer with a winning pedigree. Dunning is a combo forward with strength and athleticism while Pinion gives the class a third player from Arkansas and should be a dangerous shooter during his time in a Razorback uniform.

WINTER WATCH: ARKANSAS

quote:

In what is already a loaded class, the Razorbacks remain on winter watch. Eric Musselman has done a great job prioritizing the state's best talent in Fayetteville this year by landing three of Arkansas' top four prospects. Additionally, the staff landed another composite five-star in Texas with high ceiling combo forward Jordan Walsh. Now the staff is focused on finishing off their class with arguably the No. 1 point guard in the senior class in Anthony Black. The five-star guard is no where near making a decision yet, but the Razorbacks made great impressions on him during his official visit and will be in the mix come commitment time.

quote:

RANKING THE CONFERENCE

1. Arkansas: The Razorbacks had a "there is no place like home" mentality with their recruiting class they brought in this year. A class that includes five top 150 prospects.

7. Arkansas (95.811)
1 five-stars | 3 four-stars | 1 three-stars | 5 total recruits
Top Commit: PG Nick Smith Jr., No. 10
Summary: Convincing Smith, one of the best prospects in recent memory from Arkansas, to stay at home for college was a major win for Eric Musselman. The class would have been great if he was the only player in the class. But Musselman has also recruited four other recruits all ranked in the top 125 nationally. Four-star small forward Jordan Walsh will be a great running mate for Smith.

2023 and 2024 updates over past two months

LINK

— 2023 four-star PG Layden Blocker cuts list to seven

quote:

Arkansas: “Coach Muss has pro experience and his staff has pro experience that coached in the NBA. Also, just the freedom of their offense, the guards have freedom in the offense. They also like to play in transition and I like to play in transition too because of my speed. They have an up-tempo type of system and most of how they do everything is from the NBA. That’s a few things that stands out to me about Arkansas.”

— Top 25 prospect KJ Lewis names Arkansas in his top 12

LINK

— Three programs standing out to four-star Taylor Bowen

quote:

Arkansas: “Arkansas is a good program with a good coach. I hear from their whole staff, and they want me to be a Moses Moody type of player.”

LINK

quote:

Arkansas: “That relationship is going well for sure. The full staff is showing interest and I'm really appreciative of the staff at Arkansas recruiting me. Coach Mussleman being a former NBA coach talks about knowing how to play a NBA style and skills that will translate to the next level. I like that message because I think playing under a coach that has already been at that level will show you what you need to do and work on.”

— Stephon Castle down to six schools

quote:

Arkansas: “I talk to Eric Musselman a lot and I talk to Clay Moser. I like the coaching staff. I have not taken a visit there yet, but JD Notae is from Covington and he is high on the program.”

- Castle is announcing Nov 19th

— David Castillo discusses visits

LINK

quote:

Arkansas: “It was an amazing visit. The fans are definitely amazing and crazy. I talk to Eric Musselman and I love the way he teaches his players. In practices, he is intense in how he tells his guys the truth.”

— Jeremiah Johnson is entertaining a loyal recruitment

LINK

quote:

Arkansas: "I talk to Eric Musselman the most. Their campus is probably the most fun one I have been to. They showed me everything the school has to offer and made sure that I had a good time while I was there."

— Chris Johnson top 7

LINK

quote:

Arkansas: "Eric Musselman and his entire coaching staff recruited me to come up there and that whole visit was crazy. Their fan love was ridiculous in how I had people yelling my name and asking for autographs. It was just a crazy atmosphere. Coach Musselman, with his experience as an NBA coach, runs his program as an NBA team would. I think their program is a good one."

Recent reviews from watching Walsh

LINK

quote:

Headed to Arkansas, Walsh is a long-armed athlete who can drop your jaw in good and bad ways. Headed to Arkansas the 6-foot-7 senior uses his 7-foot-3 wingspan and elite athleticism to cause a lot of problems. He’s a bit of a magnet for the ball which makes him an impressive rebounder, versatile defender and guy who can really do damage in transition and at the rim. When things slow down, though, he can be a bit loose with his ball handling and decision making. Both Phillips and Walsh project as mismatch causing combo forwards on the college level with the potential to play out on the wing at the pro level.

LINK

quote:

Arkansas signee Jordan Walsh was motored up and locked in this weekend. He simply stuffs the stat sheet when his length and ball skills are used in the right fashion. Eric Musselman certainly has nabbed one of the more gifted prospects in the class, but the ball will be in Walsh's court in terms of how far he will allow those gifts to take him.

I bet Musselman blew a gasket when he saw that shite. This is their big graphic releaese for future recruits and they butcher it with typos.

Damn, get an English/journalism major in there to help them if they're that bad at editing.
