I really didn't miss the 7'2" guy jacking threes this year.

I'm not sure I'm going to miss the statistically worst three point shooter taking the most threes per minutes played next year.

Crazy how fast we went from in the driver’s seat on Somto to out of the running.

Hard fact is that DJ Wagner is better than anyone we're likely to attract/afford

Hogs have a good chance at Isiah Johnson, he’s probably the #2 portal PG and he’s a much better option than DJ.

Punch from TCU is one to watch for the Hogs as well.

That guard spot is probably more important than we realize right now. I think we are going to see JSJ at the 2 quite a bit and JJ and Toure splitting time at the 3. If Billy is back you may see either quite a bit of a small lineup or that may force JSJ to play the 1 more. Either way, whether it's a depth piece or a true PG, we will need toughness and possibly some 3 pt shooting there.

Edit: looks like Somgo removed the Tweet about his asking price vs what's being reported.

I'd love to know what the real numbers for these kids look like vs the numbers the agents leak to the media to drive up the asking price.

NBA Draft Room has updated their 2027 mock, JSJ now projected #1 overall up from #4. Toure skyrockets from #22 to #12. Goodness.
quote:

1 Nets Jordan Smith Jr. SG – Arkansas – HT: 6-2 – WT: 200 – WING: NA – C’26 –
A strong, compact guard who is a great defender and a natural scorer. Will have to develop his lead guard skills but has a great first step and can explode into the lane where he uses his power and athleticism to get to the rim. Has become a complete guard and taken his game to a new level. I think he has some hidden superstar potential.
PLAYER COMP: Eric Bledsoe+, Donovan Mitchell

quote:

12 Blazers Abdou Toure SF – Arkansas – HT: 6-6 1/2 – WT: 200 – WING: 6-9 1/2 – C’26 –
A high-flying wing who is one of the best above the rim finishers in his class. Is a great cutter and transition player with a developing 3pt shot.

quote:

29 Nuggets Billy Richmond SG – Arkansas – HT: 6-5 – WT: NA – WING: NA – So –
A big time wing athlete who excels at taking it to the rim. Has a lot of development left to do but has all the tools. A very interesting prospect.

Arkansas swinging and missing on all their portal prospects.

Rumor is Bidunga and Shelstad together went for more than 70% of D1 teams total NIL spend last year.

Sick of college sports as they currently exist.

I don't think a single one of our portal targets have decided.
