Count me in the trot these bad boys out at least once a year crowd. Unless we beat Bama in them. If so we need to make them the new home uniform for the rest of the season.

I love 'um!
Brings back memories for this "Old Hog".
In 1964 I attended kindergarten at the University Lab School in Peabody Hall while my father finished his EdD.
One of my student teachers was the wife of Jerry Lamb, an All SWC receiver.
I still have, in my Hog Shrine, the signed chin strap that he wore during the Cotton Bowl win over Nebraska (must have been tough to sneak things out past the equipment manager back then).
I also have a pair of glasses from A&W on College St embossed with the slobbering Hog and "1964 National Champions" as well as a copy of the 1964 "Razorback" yearbook.

They did have plastic helmets back then with face masks and I was all of 4 at the time. I hope we win another someday. I know we need to start winning again first.
What a year! I remember tuning in to most of those games with a transistor radio and listening to Bud Campbell doing the play-by-play as 'voice of the Razorbacks'. But my family did manage to get a color television that year and we got to watch the Nebraska game in color.
I especially enjoyed reading Arkansas Gazette's Sunday edition every week and combing through every article in the Sports section with information on the Razorbacks and other teams around the country.
But it was also during this time period that the Beatles stormed the country and I was a bit jealous that my sister got to see them. I said goodbye to the crew cut and grew my hair out. Now I've made a full circle.

We have been spoiled by the instant media access......but I wouldn't trade the memories from my childhood for anything.
And for reference the paperboy was the one that came about an hour after the milkman.

Oh, I do remember! I always had a pretty good idea about what time our newspaper would arrive and many times it arrived before daybreak. I would usually be waiting.
Those days had a unique quality that's really hard to describe and harder to understand for those not around at the time. The technology and the way we live our lives has changed so much.
And I agree. I wouldn't trade those memories for anything.

It's fun to reminisce and I've been blessed with a good memory but what helps keep me young is learning about new things and keeping up with new technology. Because the more I learn and the older I get, the more I realize how little I really know.
But I do like to sometimes roll with the old memories and with some new changes, I like the looks of those old uniforms .

After reading through this thread I have realized, I am in the minority around here. I don't care if they wear purple people eaters as long as they win..
Tooo many fashionistas here

I agree. But it's the losing that makes something ugly look even more ugly.

Would be cool if it were the real old school jerseys - looser and longer sleeves instead of the tight ones with the Nike logo. Also, if you look at the cleats in the OP I remember wearing those type, with the white band that tightened around your ankle back when I played. Old school socks bring back memories too.

They were saying on one of the programs that Jimmy Johnson will be there too.
What a day this should be for Hog Nation. Congrats.
Now put a cherry on it by driving a spike in the heart of Satan, err Saban.

looked between pictures of our current uniform and the throwbacks. The simplicity of our throwbacks is so much better looking. Less is more. We need to ditch the shitty arena football uniforms.
Posted on 10/14/14 at 12:26 am to CauleyHog
No thanks. The throwbacks were pretty boring. They were fun for a game to bring up some nostalgia but I would rather go back to our new uniforms afterwards.
Posted on 10/14/14 at 12:32 am to TheCheshireHog
The throwback game jerseys are going to be auctioned off for the Charger fund.
