Received my alumni mag this month and on the cover is a shot of a play of the 1964 National Championship team with a feature story inside regarding some of the key players and coaches.

There will to be a ceremony concerning the anniversary of the championship at the Arkansas v. Alabama game Saturday.

To recap they were 11-0 (the only undefeated team in the nation) and held 5 teams scoreless, outscoring opponents 231-64. The defense gave up an average of 5.7 points per game, tops in the nation. What we wouldn't give for that kind of D now.

They did have plastic helmets back then with face masks and I was all of 4 at the time. I hope we win another someday. I know we need to start winning again first.

Apparently they are also building the statue below to honor the team. Elvis Moya tweeted that it will be 20' tall and 30' wide.

@ArkRazorbacks: Tonight we also unveiled plans for a monument named the "Wild Band of Razorbacks" that will honor the '64 team. #WPS LINK
