2 back of Texas. They travel to OU. Not out of the question to win the SEC.

I didn’t watch the game, but looking at the box score I’m wondering why Gibler didn’t get a little more run. Seems like he pitched well.
Hopefully this weekend was an aberration for Wood and Jiminez. If they bring their A stuff we can compete for a title. If either of them don’t, we won’t make it.

This always happens in Baton Rouge.

Yep. Reality is that we had a chance to take the series. Voodoo morning crap or whatever you want to call Friday night/Saturday morning game…then winning today. I attribute Saturday evening game to a road trip plus playing into the early morning hours and losing the way we did.
Still sitting in a position to get 20 league wins and be a top 4-5 seed come tourney time.

What do you think we need to do? Win the Tenner series and at least 1 in the SEC tourney to lock up a top 4 seed?
We should be a top 8 unless we get swept by Tennessee and swept out of the SEC tourney.

So we battle back to get it to 1 and DVH goes to Dietz who has one appearance all season and the game is over again. Just terrible.

Posted on 5/15/25 at 10:51 pm to UltimateHog
Yeah, we should have burned all our best pitchers in this 1st game, what was he thinking….
Posted on 5/15/25 at 10:52 pm to Clark14
Yeah going to Foutch too late is much better. You can't be this dumb...
Posted on 5/15/25 at 10:54 pm to UltimateHog
So… I thought Dietz was supposed to throw harder than 93?

The second boneheaded decision by DVH. The first was leaving Root in one batter too long in the third when Gaeckle was ready.

We go to arguably our most consistent bullpen arm in Carter down 4, then go to a complete “who knows what we got” guy down 1.
If we were ok using Foutch tonight in that situation should have gone right to him.

Yeah I don't get it. Makes no sense.
DVH apologists will suck him off no matter what though, he can do no wrong.

It was a badly coached game by DVH. He planed on bringing GG in with the lead but waited too late, then didn’t have a back up plan when tenner took the lead. He did not seem relaxed in the interview.
Tenner conceded game 1 saving their ace for tomorrow and we burned through a lot of arms and still lost.
