Jackson State had zero interest in playing defense after the first 15 minutes or so

AB knocking down open 3s.

Would have been nice. Guess I’ll go with the corn rows helping him see the basket better.

Duke -10.5. Ugh…. Didn’t think this roster would be a double digit dog to anyone.

If Boozer gets the protection he did tonight we won’t. I won’t even get down about that loss. We played 8 all night long and held our own.

Pringle laid an egg last night. 1 rebound in 20 mins. He’s the guy I thought would be a force on the block. He was pushed around last night and against MSU. That can’t happen if we want to have a great season.

Brazile had a good game but faded down the stretch. Are we sure he and taylen green aren’t the same person?

Great game by Acuff. He wanted to take the game over and almost did. He’s growing up fast.

Like the energy from Richmond but 5 turnovers isn’t going to work.

I've said it multiple times.. if he would just slow his brain down when he has the ball he would be great.

There is no questioning his effort and motor. 100 percent. And I love that about him.

I can't believe Cal couldn't find a bruiser. I see big white guys dominating during the tournament every year. There has to be one somewhere.

We need Pringle and Ewin to start playing more physical on defense. Not recklessly physical, but not this pushover defense they've been playing against decent bigs. Cal needs to tell them they have to sack up and stop pussy footing around. Pride and Effort.. get pissed off.

Brazile can be a great defender if he would start using his God given ability to go vertical and contest instead of slapping down. I mean its high school level stuff that gets him in trouble. He is wide with his reach, tall, and can jump out of the gym. He needs to get a guy like Steven Hill to teach him how to block shots without fouling.

Yes, I just Steven Hill.

And lets be honest.. we need our bigs to either play stout defense, rebound, or score points.

We can't have them going out there and having these pathetic stat lines. 4 rebounds from Pringle and Ewin combined with only 10 points. Unacceptable.

And we win that game easily if Boozer didn't have his way. Frustrating.

Hard to blame Brazile when he is being forced to guard a guy he shouldn’t because Ewin and Pringle have been so inept.

He should be rotating/helping for block and rim protection, not trying to body a dude that has 50 pounds on him like last night and being allowed to do whatever he wants with his off ball arm/hand.

Brazile played fine last night, Boozer is going to dominate most players throughout the season, we just had no plan besides putting Brazile 1 on 1 with him most of the night.

As long as it’s called fairly when it counts that’s what matters

Last night was about protecting the powers that be chosen one imo

Just can’t let Boozer drive leading with that elbow all night. Textbook offensive foul and was never called one time. Let’s not even mention the jump ball where the white dude basically tackled us.
Still, our guys didn’t blink, and next time we are on that spot maybe we take better shots down the stretch and defend a little better. Sky is still the limit for them.

Norlander’s sources indicate 10 programs have (or will have soon) a $10-million budget for the 2025-26 season: established blue bloods like Duke, Indiana, Kentucky, and North Carolina; Arkansas and St. John’s, both led by Hall of Fame coaches; plus BYU, Louisville, Michigan, and Texas Tech. Michigan and Indiana are the only Big Ten teams in that upper tier.

Another group of schools, per the report, including three Big Ten teams, are at $8 million: Auburn, Connecticut, Florida, Houston, Kansas, Kansas State, Miami, Purdue, Tennessee, Texas, UCLA, USC, Villanova, and Virginia.

Nothing to be worried about. The reason cal scheduled this way is so we would be battle tested come March. If anyone thought we could come out of non conference unscathed they were lying to themselves. Duke and Michigan state are both really really good basketball teams.
