Next year has a chance to be really really good IMO. The defense next year looks legit to be one of the best in the nation.

Brazile, Fall and Walsh alone give us so much length and talent and even experience now with Walsh and Brazile.

Another thing with Fall is he's a gym rat Devo type that works his arse off all the time. High motor. Excellent fit with Devo and something we needed more of.

SDSU had beefy guys.

Then again they are tougher and one player had three Bama players trying to foul him but broke though for an easy score.

Yeah but their beefy guys don't play a whole lot and only for defense/rebounding.

Their top sized big is Mensah at 6'10" 230, a senior, and he averages a whopping 6.1ppg and 5.9rpg in 20 minutes.

Their other big that starts Johnson is 6'7" 225 senior, 7.6ppg and 5rpg in 22 minutes.

They are almost entirely driven by their guards for offense.

When you get those big meaty bodied guys that are slower and less athletic it's pretty easy to exploit if you can force them out near the perimeter. Which is exactly why Brazile (20 and 9) and Arkansas beat them on a neutral court.

They must not be too slow or unatheletic as they are in the final four and Arkansas is watching on TV eating nasty frozen pizza.

They don't play as much because they get more production from the bench which is ranked 22 in the nation.

Arkansas is ranked 141 in the nation. The legs get tired which could explain some of the collapses during games.

FAU is 2nd in the nation in bench points per game.

Unconn ranked at 132.

Miami ranked at 322.

They get tired easier because they are 230+ pounds at 6'7".

And again, with Brazile, they lost to Arkansas because those old school bigs don't do well against guys that stretch the floor.

They got a whopping 12 points from their bench vs Creighton.

Bama can stretch the floor and they beat them. Arkansas needed a few breaks just to get that game to OT against them. They should have lost that game in regulation.

But it doesn't matter as those "old school" bigs are in the final four while the other is home.

Watched the McDonald's AA practice on ESPN and Fall looked a little smaller than Kentucky's 7 footer Aaron Bradshaw, but not much smaller. Bradshaw is good and can shoot from outside, so I'm glad we have some heighth.

Yeah but they didn't because little ole Kamani Johnson got the tip in.

Not when Brandon Miller shoots like that, did you not watch the game?

Beefy inside guy for UCONN does. We couldn't do anything with him.

How confident are we that Brazile and Walsh are coming back? Maybe it’s battered hog syndrome but I was thinking both were 50/50 at best..

im more convinced on Brazile, but im 50/50 on Walsh. if he gets a decent draft grade, he should go, eventhough i think he could improve to a lottery pick with a good healthy season next year

I thought duke last year and UConn this year seemed similar inside to me . Older mature physically gifted older big with a younger taller skinnier big still developing. Allowed them to rest guys or to go big on us and whip us st rebounding

Exactly. I don't get that people don't understand that you just can't out athlete anyone in the NCAA. Having size and good skilled guards that can shoot is what wins the championship more often than not.

Per Kevin as expected,

Is Ware expected/assumed to be a Hog?

Who cares. If you can get him, you take him. 100%.

we made the sweet 16 and didn’t use 5 schollies whatsoever down the stretch.
