Tylor Perry: 100 grade, 97 offense, 99 defense 15th-highest graded player in D-1, including 6th-best guard. His xRAPM of +10.7 this season was higher than any Hog in the Muss era
quote:
Perry’s 97 offensive grade comes thanks to excellent 57% eFG%. He shot 41% from 3 on extremely high volume. He’s also very good at getting to the line when he drives (5 FTAs per game against just 4 2-pt attempts per game). And he has a very low turnover rate (14%)
quote:
Oh yeah, and he’s also the best defender on his team, which ranked 11th in the country in adjusted defensive efficiency

I feel like he will commit in the next 48 hours.
I also thing we are in on another possible guard. Hard to understand really, but Muss is all out this year.
Crazy how loaded we are going to be.

If we don't drown in tears from our fans over Muss processing the bench to reload.

Re: dunning. He was 2 years from getting meaningful pt here. Muss could put pinion and Ford in as a freshman in an sec game in a pinch if he had to. Pinion flat out won the mizzou game. If they go bite they will bite as a pup. Dunning barely played in mop up time. I'm sure he's a great kid and works hard but we need that Scholly for people closer to contributing
Something similar happened to me my senior year of high school. Played at mills sophomore and Jr year. I worked hard but I had knee surgery my Jr year and it just wasn't the same afterwards. We had some really good sophomores come from fuller and one if them took my spot on the team. Coach told me you're a great kid but we owe it to the team to do what's best for the team. Never forget that and he was right.

Man trying to project a lineup even now is hard as hell. Who is the starting PG? Perry if we land him surely right? Then Menifield with Blocker 3rd option.
Mark at the 2 or Battle.
Davenport or Battle at the 3.
Brazile and Mitchell or Fall down low for now.
One thing is for sure we are going to be a whole hell of a lot different in lineups, minutes and substitutions next year. I would love to see how this year compared to some of Muss's previous years where he could sub more.
We will have so many quality guards to keep everyone fresh as can be all year long. No more playing through injuries and banged up guys going for 38-40 minutes per game entire conference play.
Then you think about the practices with all those minutes up for grabs, the amount of talent competing for it day in day out. Going to be some intense practices that would be a blast to watch.

Lots of reports that Perry was seen checking into a hotel Friday night, which could mean he has turned his 'unofficial' visit into an official.
Wilkerson also said he is obviously at the top of the list currently for Guard prospects.
He also said he believes Muss may go after another Wing to replace Dunning, and he would not be surprised if Hogs did NOT go after another big man.
...
Kind of shocks me we may not get another big since TB is basically the only two way big man we have. And he just missed the season from injury.
Perhaps Muss is having a hard time convincing another high level big to come share the front court with TB. That could also be a factor.

Might also indicate Mitchell is staying and we're rocking TB, Mitchell, Graham and Fall.

Not great depth but that’s more than adequate to go with maybe the best/deepest backcourt in the country

Oh and Graham knew I was forgetting one.

If you get Walsh to come back you might feel a little more comfortable with a relatively thin front court. He's the biggest piece to the puzzle IMO. Need him back.

He said he’d be surprised if we didn’t add another big. We’re in on Dickinson until he tell us no then we have back up options.

PG
1. Perry
2.(a) Menifield
2. (b) Blocker
4. Mark (has the ability here but he's probably most useful elsewhere unless we're just wanting to put a lot of size out there and go defense heavy)
Wing guards
1. Battle
2. Mark
3.(a) Blocker (assuming he doesn't win much PG time time)
3. (b) Davenport/Walsh (if he's around)
The 4th guy on the court could be very matchup dependent. We'll have the option to go small or big.
1. Brazile
2. (a) Davenport/Walsh
2. (b) Fall
4. Graham
PF/C
1. Mitchell
2. Brazile
3. Fall
I expect Brazile to be out there most of the time, when not at the 4, moving down to the 5. Battle and Mark I also expect to be out there 80+% of the time. And then whoever wins PG (it would look like Perry if we get him) is also probably going to be out there consistently.
So your main lineup looks like a mix of Brazile, Battle, Mark, Perry. Then you have a mix of guys that can rotate in depending on matchup.

Anybody know how legit the Dickinson smoke is right now?
A day or two ago, it was "no change in hell, he's Maryland bound" and now it seems to be "well, he's listed his OVs, but Hogs are very much in this and keeping everything double secret."
I have not seen alot of ball outside of the SEC, how well does he fit witj Brazile? Is he a Walker Kessler type? Or more of a stretch?

We ran a lot of 4 guard/smaller lineups in the past and last year early.
Might see that again a lot too with the size we'll have available.
We started
Black
Devo
Council
Walsh
Mitchell
In Maui. TB subbed Mitchell.
