just taking 2022-2023 stats,
last year's team shot 69.9% from FT and 31.3% from 3P.
excluding Fall and Blocker, next year's team combined for 73.5% from FT and 33.6% from 3P.
Notable improvement and I would expect, we could potentially improve upon that since Mark, Battle and Devo all shot much better as the season moved on, and Brazile a 38% shooter played a limited amount of games

Threw together some stuff based on the past 3 teams and the projected roster for next year (I'll update as it changes)
Using torvik's PRPG, which attempts to value a players points above a hypothetical replacement player per game, takes into account a lot of stats, competition level, etc. Also used D-PRPG which is the defense version of the same thing.
I just used the players that played significant time each year. For 2024, I'm projecting everyone a 10% improvement. Obviously this isn't guaranteed but it's very conservative based on what Muss has done with guys in the past. There are weird ones like Graham, who just fell off the map with Muss, but by and large a 10% average improvement should be pretty easy to get.
I left out Blocker and Fall's projections because there isn't much to go on. Also leaving out projections for Ford because the sample size is pretty small. There is reason to believe at least some of these can contribute and make these numbers even better, but even assuming they are just average or don't contribute much, our team is looking very good overall.

I have no idea what any of that means but it looks good?
Btw, it’s hilarious that other fanbases get so mad that we reach out to a ton of portal players and sign some pretty decent ones.

Yeah main takeaway is we look on paper like Muss' best/most complete team so far. This is assuming Walsh and Devo return, but also not really accounting for any benefit from Blocker or Fall

Imagine how good we would have been in 2022 if Moody and Smith had come back. Damn.

I don't particularly dislike Bama, but seeing their fans do the shocked pikachu face when we have more NIL and recruit better in basketball is funny

We just got another commit?? I am so confused. It’s another guard.

Oquendo? Sounds like more people are leaving than we think.

6’5 and hits 35% from three. That’s a good one.

I'm still concerned about muscle inside. I was worried about that when I watched UConn play the game before we played them. Turned out my fears were rightly founded. We just got bullied inside.

Anyone know if Cade and Lawson will be back?

I get the concern, but I’m not sure Muss is aligned with that way of thinking. He wants stretch 4s out there in an ideal world. Brazile and Fall are both good post defenders. Not sure how they fair against a Sanogo but I think in Muss’ view in that situation, you let him get his and say good luck matching up with our bigs who can play from the 3 point line.
Keep in mind that it wasn’t just Sanogo that beat us in the UConn game. They had superior guard play and movement too, along with really good defense.

Sanogo was so effective because everyone else on the floor could shoot the 3, so we couldnt play with any help defense down low

If Devo returns, with all the guards we have, it looks like Pinion and Ford spend another year waiting their turn. Even if Devo leaves their path to seeing the court isn't clear.
Hopefully Devo comes back but we get to use him and Mark more in the ~25-30 minute per game range to keep them both fresh.
Battle is going to end up being too valuable offensively to take off the court and be one of the 35+ minute guys
As much as I love Devo, I do think we're fine whatever he decides. Walsh might be slightly more critical to how the roster fits together

Their spots could be used if we ran out of scholarships. Use NIL to pay tuition and other benefits.

Agreed. Walsh would be our next Devo defensively. He's gone to the NBA though.
