Funny story but my daughter knows him and he was sure that he was going to be cut after fall ball ‘21.

DVH gone. Starting pitching suspect. Found a way on the road. Gotta love the grit.

He may have to swap with Tygart if Brady can't start throwing strikes.

Ehh DVH has a history of saving his best, most versatile (non first round) arm for relief.

Mac has started plenty and we have a deep pen.

DVH and Hobbs will not continue to trot Tygart out there if he can't throw strikes.

Guys we have enough to bitch about in football and basketball. Can’t we just enjoy winning for a change?

I enjoy it. Don’t feel too good about basketball forcing me to watch midseason baseball over prime time March Madness but I’ll take it. When all three programs suck is when there is real hell to pay.

This is also true. DVH also has a history of not fricking around. Although some might counterpoint with Jaxon Wiggins.

Tygart seems to be having the same control issues he developed late in the ’22 season and early last year.

Even despite his ERA, he’s hitting a lot of batters and issuing a high number of walks. He just seems to be getting out of the jams, which had kept his ERA below 1.00 before tonight.

He completely loses a curveball like 1/10 pitches. I like BT but he has to get that figured out. He’s on pace to getting slapped around in the postseason if he doesn’t tighten it up.

Mac is absolutely nails this year

I'd argue he's every bit as valuable as Hagen.

Agree.

I wish our offense would stop fricking the dog in Hagen’s starts and give him a little more run support so we don’t have to use Mac the same night in close game or leverage relief.

It’d be nice to be able to have a few options with him headed into Saturdays. Control issues aside, I’m not sure Tygart is a 5 inning pitcher, so we’re more than likely going to need Mac behind him in middle relief in game 2’s.

This team is so much better suited for regional play.

We're Omaha built. Let's ride fellas.

So I’m guessing DVH’s daughter went into labor yesterday or after the game Thursday night. I believe she was pregnant with twins/triplets, I can’t remember which. But recall him saying she was basically bed ridden when Hogs were in Arlington.

My “no shite” comment of the day: probably goes without saying, but I’m sure DVH stays in Fayetteville.

We won the series, Hobbs did a great job managing yesterday, and the grandbabies arrived. No need to take the trip back to Auburn for one game.

Yep, just saw video on Twitter of his address to the team. Looked like he got choked up at the end.
