It means nothing if they aren't properly developed.

They seem to develop pretty well. If they didn't they wouldn't keep coming to pitch for Hobbs.

This needs to be DVH outside of Wes Johnson's place this offseason

I've always loved WJ. When I found out he was going to the Twins, I understood, but was completely bummed out about it. When I found out he was coming back to the college game and was headed to LSU, I felt like spitting tacks (at the situation, not at him). I hate it that we don't have him.

When DVH retires, I hope he's interviewed.

Brad Bohannon’s mocking of the Hog Call was the BC / AD dividing line in this series.

BC - Hogs looked prime for getting swept and tumbling out of the top 10.

AD - Hogs turned into rally lords, took the series, and jumped a spot in the rankings.

I can see a path for this team to be really good:

1. Gage wood has to become a solid middle reliever. He took a major step forward this weekend.
2. Need Tygert healthy and looking like he did mid last year.
3. Have to get better defensively at catcher, 3rd and SS. Way too many pass balls. SS is a hot mess. Did we turn any double plays this weekend?

It's the worst we've been at catcher in so long. I don't recall the last time our catchers were this bad.

I think Coll will take this role going forward. He's not great but Bolton is an automatic out.

Dude has all the swagger you look for in a high-end reliever. He seems like he's starting to trust his stuff more and nibble around the plate less, so that should be a good sign going forward.

I’m in the “anybody but Bolton” camp. Let Bolton try hit himself out of a slump DHing midweek games, but he doesn’t need to play on weekends.

However, I’m not sure Coll is the answer right now either. He went 1 for 6 with 3 K’s this weekend, his only hit being a grounder to short that he legged out, and he had some awful throws to first.

I should just write a program that auto-posts “Jayson Jones deserves a chance” whenever this topic comes up, because I’m a broken record at this point.

Cali is still too feast or famine. He had a moonshot in game 2, but he was still 1 for 11 this weekend. He’s now below the Mendoza Line, batting .192, which is 40 points below Rowland and worst of our starters.

To be fair, Cali did hit several balls hard. They just all found the defense.

Why doesn't he get a look? In the DVH doghouse?

He's getting the Kendall Diggs treatment this year. Plays just enough to keep him biting but hopefully where he won't transfer out, but last year was somewhat understandable since Diggs doesn't stand out at any position last season defensively given what the team had other than maybe over Gregory in LF. Diggs has a noodle arm too though.

This year with the whole left side of the infield being complete dogshit offensively and defensively, Jones should be getting more of a fair shot.

True. I was glad to see his strikeouts reduced this weekend. I believe he only had 1 or 2.

Yep.

Jones has good range and has shown flashes both defensively and at the plate in his appearances.

Neither Bolton nor Coll are offensive stalwarts, but both are defensive liabilities as well, which we can’t afford given how shaky our pitching is.

Tuesday’s game against Arkansas State has been canceled due to inclement weather.

Hogs get a breather before starting the Ole Miss series on Thursday night.

So what happens for the season tix holders. are you credited with the cost of the tix for that game? Or stuck paying for the game?

I sold those to some ASU fans I knew I couldn't go during the middle of the week.
