Conf tourneys are beneficial to teams trying to get a last host spot (league could have 8 hosts), improve RPI to make the NCAAT field (isn't a thing in the SEC) or teams who have sucked in league play and have to win the auto-bid (example Mizzou/Georgia this year).
The tournament is a waste of time for all top seeds who have top 8 locked up. Florida and Hogs both went 2-0 got a day off then eliminated in the single elimination portion at backend of the tournament to teams they already beat.
The format single elim-double elim-single elim isn't the best but they do it to save pitching and arms instead of another meaningless game between top teams with nothing really to gain.

It’s a terribly formatted tournament.

Cal State Fullerton now instead of OU on D1.
That would be fun.

I just want to see some new teams.
Feels like I've seen OSU and Oral Roberts 30 times. I was there when ORU won our regional many years back now.
CSF would be awesome even if they're a shell of what they used to be.

I wish the same thing. Let all the teams in and then format it all as single elimination.

Seems like we get Dallas Baptist a lot too, surely there’s somewhere else they could go.

That's the one thing that annoys me about postseason college baseball. It's pretty obvious they form regionals based on ease of travel moreso than the actual seeding. The fact that we got a P5 conference champion in our regional as the overall #1 seed was plenty of proof of that. Nebraska should have been hosting let alone getting treated like the worst 2 seed in the tournament.

Seems like kind of a rough draw

The regional is tough but the super regional and the first potential week in Omaha could be worse.

Not really. Two bad teams and a mediocre team in TCU.
Arizona finished 8th in a weak Pac 12 and probably shouldn’t be in the tourney. TCU won Big 12 tourney but OSU was completely out of pitching. They were pretty mediocre post Arlington and went 13-11 in the Big 12.
