If he comes back it will most likely take him a few games to catch up. But the possibility of a threat he presents would be helpful.

I've been a big critic of Devo but he's been lights out the last couple games and I'm happy to be proven wrong. He hasn't taken the head-scratching shots or passes. And he's looking to distribute more instead of being the hero. His shot is looking a lot better too.

Baylor game is a big opportunity for us in terms of resume and just team morale. Keep a winning streak going, get that first road win out of the way. We have more to play for than they do in this game.

I agree. I feel like this has been his best shot selection since the 2021 tourney

I think a lot of the fanbase whether it's football, basketball or baseball don't know what they are watching other than the scoreboard.

Devo just started making shots in the past couple games, his fg% has been atrocious all year. He’s still shooting sub 40%. The criticism of his offense was legitimate before the past two games. His defense has been good all year and no one has complained about that, just his poor shooting and decision making.

For all the good he has done, the globetrotter audition with passing and handling during games just synges the memory.

He would be all sec level if he cut that out just play within himself.

That’s all I have said about Devo, don’t take a bunch of 3s it’s not your strong suit, the last two games doesn’t make a strong sample size for him to do so…

Don’t do a bunch of dumb passes that end up being turnovers, so far this year he hasn’t.

Don’t dribble the ball off your feet 3-4x a game trying to look fancy, so far this year he hasn’t.

Drive and score, get fouls, and play great defense, all things he can do…

I'm ok with Devo taking 4-5 of those uncontested three's a game.

If he's in a rhythm take a few more, if he's missing those 4-5 shots wont hurt us.

He's shooting with confidence currently which is huge.

AB looked pretty good shooting the ball last night as well. But he's unselfish so he doesn't take a lot of them.

Jordan went from splashing some over the previous games to air balling a wide open one last night. I just dont get it. At least he's utilizing the pump fake more and driving to the basket. Really impressed with his growth on offense. Not forcing as much.

Pinion was rusty. Missed one short and one long.

Just imagine if everyone had a good shooting game at once. The possibilities

You can’t come in 5m over the past 5 games and he lights out… I get last game he seemed pretty amazing, but he needs to be in the line consistently if that’s what you want out of him.

And can someone get with the Mitchell twins and work on catching tough passes. I've never seen big men so weak with their hands.

Seems like it happens every game, we will get penetration by our guards and they will make a pass to one of the twins only for them to fumble it away.

They are a talented pair, but they really need to start asserting themselves more. Demand the ball in the post tell the guards to get the hell out of the way and get some buckets.

This would help our offense more than anything.

That’s why they like oops, just put your hands in the air like a target and let the other player throw it to the target!

Anybody catch Black and Devo roasting Adam Miller in the presser after the game?

LINK

Maybe this team is starting to figure it out and get some swagger back.

Don't expect that to change. He's not going to be 3 point specialist. Inconsistency has to be expected with him. I've said he needs to keep shooting those though, because we really need defenses to respect him out on the perimeter. If he can hover around 25% and just take the good looks, that is fine

In conference play so far:

Devo +2.9
Black +2.3
Makhi +2.2
Council +2.2
Pinion +1.6
Makhel +1.3
Kamani +0.4
Walsh +0.3
Graham +0.1
Ford -0.4
Dunning -0.4

I would've guessed Council would have been lower, Walsh and Ford higher, without looking.

ETA: Council had a really good +6.9 vs Vandy. Without that he'd probably be in the red

I will always remember Walsh airballing a wide open uncontested 3.

And not short, not long, but to the left.

Jordan has good shooting form, but he's obviously not a confident shooter yet.

Just gotta keep getting shots up in practice and games, and maybe his shooting percentage will jump up to 30 percent.

I’ll give Devo credit, he’s working his butt off to try and win these games. And he’s improving offensively. Good job.
