For sure, not arguing that but I can see why we’re still hanging around a 9. By Sunday I think we’re a 10 playing a team like Iowa.

My mistake he plays for Purdue.

Yeah Edey will be tough to play against for any team, he’s a physical freak. Watched him a couple times this year and he’s so big he just sort of places the ball in the basket, doesn’t need to jump at all.
Indiana has his number somehow, they swept them this year.

He would destroy Arkansas paint.
He isn't the stereotypical slow Big 10 big.

I see us as more of a punchers chance type team now. A couple of weeks ago I sort of expected sweet 16+. Now I'll just be watching us in the tournament expecting to lose, happy with anything more than a first round knockout

I'm happy that muss has us where we should be. Even on bad unlucky injury filled years we're a tournament team.
We start winning in the tourney, awesome. If not we're at least there and will be back next year

Like I said after Chad Morris with Pittman. I'm glad I'm to the point where I'm mad again after losses. It got to a point where reaching the tournament seemed to be the pinnacle. Now it's the floor.

Lunardi morning update
Houston is the 1.
quote:
No. 8 Maryland vs. No. 9 Arkansas: Maryland has the go-to lead guard, the talented, shot-creating supporting cast and a really good defense to be really scary in March. Arkansas is still in the process of working out its kinks with Nick Smith Jr. finally back in the lineup. Eric Musselman is a monster in March, and no one is signing up to face the Hogs.
Houston is the 1.

Still don't understand how we have the resume to get in but I'll take it I guess.

I tend to lean towards Palm closer we get. CBS does have the rights to the tournament so I’d suspect he has a better idea of what the network wants along with the committee
He has us as a 9 vs Maryland and Kansas as the #1

I can't believe Muss's job is in question. It takes time to build an elite program. Even in basketball.
There will always be down years. Look at North Carolina.
Yes there were high expectations but they have those every year at Kentucky and they've been shite compared to their standards.

I don’t think anybody with a brain thinks it’s in question.
Bad years happen and who exactly are we going to get who’s better?
I’d walk away from the program for good if they fired him

Is anyone actually thinking he could be fired?

I would consider myself FAR from the Muss is on the hot seat camp. But it does suck looking at this list seeing that 3 of the top 7 recruits we’ve ever had (since recruiting rankings started) are on the same team and this is the level we are playing at this season. It makes it hard for me to sympathize with “injuries” being the sole reason this team hasn’t performed up to expectations. But I guess I’m learning the hard way that NBA potential is not the same as dominant at the college level.

I just don't see how you turn down the equity of bringing in a #2 class even if you had a crystal ball and already had foreseen the issues with trying to get the egos to gel and whatnot.
A lot of the histrionics come down to dropping the foul ball.

Some of these games Arkansas should have won without those two. Vandy and LSU are a few examples. Arkansas led at half of five games and lost them all.

Young teams rarely win championships. Especially now that they go pro after a year.

If the bad years are a 8/9 seed in the NCAA tournament then I can't wait for the good years.
