Lol we stayed on the 8 line.

Need to win one more to be safe. Going to be really hard to win in Knoxville. We’ll probably beat Kentucky at home but that’s no guarantee.

8-10 in conference leaves us on shaky ground.

I think even if Arkansas lost the last two games they are still in.

Nah our spot is clinched regardless. We're just playing for seeding.

Arkansas is a tourney lock unless they draw Ole Miss in the SEC tourney and lose.

Hogs will make the tourney unless they get curbstomped in last 2 games.

There Net and RPI and SOS are all very high.

Cannot believe Auburn, Vandy and A&M are ahead of us in conference.

Still going to be hard for me to forgive Muss for that LSU loss.

Best coach since Nolan

B2B elite 8’s

A lot of restructuring after losing two big pieces.

You can get the heck over the LSU loss

I’m kidding.

And honestly, “best coach since Nolan” doesn’t exactly do him Justice.

I know he will get the most out of these guys, and I’ll get over the Graham thing. Although W-Ls are starting to show he needs to play more.

Let’s look at it from a different angle…It should hopefully give our squad a few more games to gel and “hopefully” get another 2-3 wins in the SECt. That also does bring another land mine game into play.

I’d prefer the 7 seed and playing the 10 seed in game one with the next matchup being against aTm. I’m confident in beating them on a neutral floor. You win that, you’d likely get Kentucky in the semi’s for possibly 3 total extra wins and two Q1 wins.

The problem is going to be needing to go 2-0 and needing Vandy to go 0-2 to finish the season with the 7 seed. We would lose the tie breaker with Vandy and get the 8 seed.

8 seed in the SECt plays the 9 seed to open, which right now would be Florida. Win that game and you’d play the 1 seed, which looks to be Alabama. That’s worst case scenario, but is probably the most likely scenario. Not that I am scared of Alabama, but a Q1 win against aTm or Kentucky is more likely. So you could possibly just go 1-1 and have a shitty win and add another Q1 loss if you can’t beat Bama.

Think about this season realistically and the job Muss has done is pretty amazing.

October 2022 - Title Contender
Nov 2022- Lose Smith, retool roster 7-1

December- Loose Brazille & Smith 5-1

January - figure out a whole new offense entering SEC Play starts off rough but start to gel end of the month. 4-5

February - 2 good wins to start then Smith returns and have to reset the rotation again and regel as a team. 4-3

My hope is this gel comes in full by the UK game in time for a run. This team is fixing things. Just look at turnover numbers, which we’ve all complained about.

There is no doubt that Muss is an incredible coach overall. I do question the small rotation, but not in a critical way. Because the dude absolutely knows what he is doing.

I do just consider us snakebitten in perpetuity as a fanbase however. so many "what if's" throughout the years.

Outside of Graham there isn’t much really.

It’s been said it took till Dec/Jan for the Mitchell’s to figure it out.

Ford, Dunning, and Pinion needed to be gymrats all summer and fall to get into the rotation. If the rest of the team is better then you then you have to outwork them. Not sure they were willing to do that.

we are 1 injury away from being up crap creek again, Especially if it is Smith, Devo, a twin, or... welll... You get the point.

The gel is already here. Doesn't mean we're going to win every game. We lost by 3 to arguably the best team in the country on the road. Hit half of our free throws that were there for the taking in the 2nd half, who knows.

If there's a part of the team we haven't figured out yet, it's the 5.

We had 3 guards score 20+ points yesterday. Those 3 cycling in and out with Black as facilitator is perfect.

Walsh is the glue guy for lack of a better word. Not flashy but doesn't hurt the team, great effort, lengthy. Affects the game in ways that don't always show up in the stats.

Makhi, Makhel, and Graham have all shown flashes at times but we never know who is going to show up from game to game

Oats (most likely) ripped his teams arse first of all at half time then figured out a strategy to attack the basket. We didn't appear to be mentally prepared for expecting Bama to come out and be a different team after the half and got beat. To our team's credit, they did come back and make a game of it.

Black was a little off, it appeared. Didn't have his 'normal' game. Maybe that was part of Bama's strategy. Old Nolan 'cut the head off the snake' strategy.

Black finishes at the rim like a smaller guard but doesn't get the calls when there is contact due to his size. As he matures physically it will be less of an issue but he definitely needs to learn to finish through contact instead of waiting on the refs to reward him. I thought the team looked more cohesive with NSJ, Council, and Devo together when Black was on the bench. Off day for him for sure.
