I love our closing line up of Lykes, JD, Devo, Toney and Jwill.
Feel like so many of those players have "closer" mentalities.
So far this season, and for most of the Muss Bus tour here, we have been deadly down the stretch in close games. Which is a refreshing change of pace. I think we can all remember far too many close games where we collapsed down the home stretch.

IMO Devo has been the most underwhelming player so far. He still shows glimpses of being really crafty and a great overall player but was expecting him to take that next step this year which he still has time to do.
Having said that, his state line from the last game was basically what he need from him more consistently. Two turnovers but 5 assists, two steals and five rebounds. His points will come and go. He has only taken 13 3s but its clear he is improved in that area as well.
Yeah we've really gotta get more out of Davis. His off ball movement in the offense hasn't been great offensively this season. If he will do more cutting to the basket and across the court i think it'll help his slump
He's driving way too much when he had the ball as well. Which is why we see those turnovers.

Anyone who plays the style of ball miss plays should be like this. It's hard to close a game if you're in foul trouble and the other team is playing solid defense.

I think Devo will figure it out and deliver down the stretch.
Really need Umede to become the catch and shoot guy.
Beyond that, super happy where the team is at thus far given so many new faces and crucial departures. Conference is going to be a juggernaut but its all about making a run in March anyway.

Drewbie?
If we lose, though, Pio takes the L since his gamethreads have been on a winning streak.

Florida plays at Oklahoma tonight, will be an interesting gauge to see how we should stack up.

Anyone making the trip to Tulsa for the Oklahoma game? I am thinking about going. Anyone have any recommendations on where to book a room?

I will be there but I will not be doing a room. I live in the Tulsa Metro.
Depending on what your style is, several options downtown to stay at. Mayo Hotel is an older, boutique type hotel.

There are also some of your normal Hampton Inn type of places, etc. that are within walking distance to the BOK. If you do stay downtown, go over and eat/drink at Bull In the Alley. Thank me later. A good pizza option downtown is Andolini's. That is a local favorite.
There is plenty of parking garages around the downtown area that should have plenty of parking if you wanted to stay out in the metro somewhere. If you do this, I would recommend somewhere around the Jenks River Walk. While there is no Top Golf, there is a Flying Tee on the River Walk area that is a good time. Also Burn Co. is an excellent BBQ there.

Spent yesterday evening and this morning watching miss and player press conferences.
When asked what muss said to the team at half time of UCA and if he was mad. Jwill and Devo bust up laughing and day no comment. Then fumble around the talking points they were given about it. It was priceless. Muss definitely lit their arse up.
Muss telling the press that he'd hope they could shoot better than 6 of 20 free throws....he knows he can. Also a solid gold moment.

Ladybacks lose 52-51 to UCF. Amber Ramirez' regression is a killer with not much else on the team scoring wise besides Daniels.
She was 2/18 tonight. She's down almost 10% from her 3PT shooting a year ago.

She was 1-10 FG with 8 attempts being 3FG, not 2-18.
1 of 10 total and only 3 points.

Whoops read the box wrong.
Guess the rest will have to suffice. Gonna be a long year for the women's team I'm afraid.

We lost by one on the road and the other loss this year is a respectable one to UConn. Not a very good night from us shooting wise but hopefully we can turn things around.
I'm not quite ready to start shoveling dirt on them but we need our star players to come through for us in games like this if we are going to compete in the SEC. With any luck we are just stuck in a shooting slump that we will break out of.
