Muss post-game Tennessee - LINK

I don't know who the white-haired guy is, but it's not really a good look when your background shows a vent that doesn't look like it's been cleaned in this century, and the door-frame looks like it's survived an earthquake. A coat of paint or three wouldn't hurt either...

Just seems bush to have to see that when we're trying to watch a press conference.

Oh, and Muss has it in for some of the SEC refs already.

Well on a positive we actually went up in KenPom after the loss 3 or 4 spots.

I know this is a process and losing Smith is a killer but why do we ALWAYS struggle so mightily with SEC play.

It just boggles my mind.

Meanwhile, programs like Auburn, LSU, TN and now Alabama have had no problem just wrecking the SEC pretty quickly with new coaches. I realize its early days with Bama and this is an oversimplified way of looking at it but damn.

Got smoked by Mizzou at home and then they go and lose to Miss State.

So frustrating.

This is just your mind playing tricks on you

Pearl didn't have a winning record until year 4 in SEC play. It took Rick Barnes year 3. Wade and Oats have done well early but Oats still has a long way to go. Some Bama fans were already giving up on him by the end of noncon play this year.

This year and last year it's always in the back of my mind other SEC programs generally look bigger, stronger, faster. UGA, FL and LSU are similar when I watch them.

It's one main reason I'm ready to see more of Williams as he gets accustomed to this level. I took it as a big positive last night when multiple times he worked to create his own shot.

Glad Vance produced in the minutes he was given.

That will go a long way in helping us win while Justin is recovering.

Last nights game was lost because of all the unforced turnovers we had.

We easily could have won that game, but when you shoot yourselves in the foot numerous times, it makes it tough.

I'm not sure what's wrong with Desi. It seems like he gets discouraged or upset when something negative happens during the game and he can't recover.

I mentioned in the game thread how we need the aggressive/fearless Desi from the tip to the final buzzer.

Hope he turns it around soon because we need him.

Desi was totally out of kilter last night. Moses was pretty nonexistent too.

Last night was just a bizarre game to me. We had folks step up and play well that I hadn’t expected Jackson, Williams, Tate, Notae even with his really good or really bad stuff was good. Vanover has gotten some grief and by no means do I think he’s the man on our team but I did think overall he played much better last night than he did Saturday against Mizzou. Then we had all those turnovers.

I thought we’d lose by 15 plus tbh so I’m not really mad about it but my expectations have been maybe not tempered completely but calmed.

I know, I know.

Just tired of not getting over the hope at every turn.

Still lots of season left. Seems like every SEC game this year so far has been a coin flip. Georgia who I expected to beat took LSU to OT who I didn't expect to beat. So I'm not really sure what to think.

I don't see us getting blown out in any games but don't see us running away with any either so focusing on the small things will be really important. Need to cut out the silly turnovers and continue hitting our FTs.

Fans almost hate to see a team get close and play well in a loss than just straight blown out.

I know some don't want to hear it but that was a good performance and response after last game. No moral victories and if you watched the press conference afterward Musselman made that very clear.

This has been one of the strangest starts to the year. You could name like 4-5 teams and say they are leading the league in a month and it wouldn't surprise me. There is no clear favorite and the floor looks a little higher than what we originally thought.

Once again, we need a strong showing in the Big 12/SEC challenge to make sure we get more seats at the dance.

And that's what cost us the win.

Overall better play even though Desi is in some kind of funk.

We're extremely young and should continue to progress over the season.

Actually I don’t think we’re that young...

Smith
Tate
Notae
Vanover
Desi
Jackson

All with extensive college experience before this season, though none had played together.

I should've clarified my post. I was referring to Williams and Moody who are getting significant PT.

As they grow and the team progresses playing together this team will get better.

Williams is improving quickly. I hope long term to see him replace Conner at the starting 5

I hope they get it together, seems like once they hit SEC play they struggle mightily. Same as last year.

Sounds like we have some players that were out yesterday and today at practice. I know we already know something about KK but Musselman eluded to it being more than just one, guess it could be covid issues or another player that is banged up.
