If you make an Alford thread I'll try and lend a hand.

I don't know much about the coaching search but I DO know that the "CCM $3.5 million rumor" is bullshite.

Not sure where or why that started but it's 1000% untrue.

It started because it was true in the past.

When Frank was negotiating with Self after Nolan was fired, the best offer he could make had to be less than Houston Nutt was making at the time, this offer was more than Nolan was being paid previously but not enough for Illinois to not be able to match it, which they did.

I think he holds all the cards here. He can ask for the world and probably get it.

He doesn't have as much leverage as you think.

Both he and Mussleman are relying on transfers this year, Beards were graduate transfers, both are unproven when it comes to recruiting and roster management on the college level.

Both will be looking at "down" or "rebuild" years next year unless they land another good group of transfers.

The relying on transfers and inherited players raises the question on their ability to develop young players brought into their programs.

Need to save that energy to form the masses to lash out on twitter for his involvement in his dad's shady practices over the years.

The word out of the Stephens inc building in LR is that Warren Stephens really likes Beard and developed a great relationship with him while at UALR. 5 million plus a year will be offer.

Beard's core last year were tubby recruits/players.

The core this year are graduate transfers.

Yep, and look at their best player this year. Culver has improved greatly

Was a 3 star, not even top 250 recruit and is projected as a top 10 in some drafts. Does not get much better than that in terms of development.

So, would you rather have Beard, Marshall, or Dixon?

Jamie Dixon appears to be out as a candidate for UCLA's basketball coaching vacancy

Dixon’s $8-million buyout at Texas Chrisian became an insurmountable sticking point for both sides, according to multiple people close to the situation, with the Horned Frogs unwilling to lower the amount and the Bruins unwilling to pay it even after identifying Dixon as their top candidate as part of a lengthy search.

If UCLA isn't paying it then we aren't either.
