by 2010(one of our best teams in recent memory), his starting line was made up of 1 high 3 star(Alvin Bailey), 1 mid-level 3 star(Travis Swanson), 2 low 3 stars(Demarcus Love and Wade Grayson) and a 2 star(Ray Dominguez)
That line was man handled by Bama, auburn, and LSU during that time frame. (2010-2011)
There are great DCs in this league, the idea of well the Oline isn't a big deal because Chad will get the ball out quick theory needs to look no further than Robb Smith who wasn't up to par for this league (admittedly not completely his fault) who was able to shut Freeze and OM down with their quick strike offense with NFL talent all over the field...

lets get to just losing those 3 games and work on landing blue chip O-linemen after that
Also, I agreed it's a problem, but you can only fix so many deficiencies at once

This was after Nutt left him with 2-3 decent starters but a handful of recent weaker OL classes.
if we had 2-3 good ones now we would be in better shape.
today we have froholdt and some other guys which is a terrifying situation.

yes and at what point during this time period did we have so few olinemen that we can't field a two deep during fall camp? I'd take lower rated guys but it seems like we are running out of those too. idk maybe just perception but the weakest depth we are struggling to recruit that's not a good sign.

Correct. I mean Mike Anderson has had eight years and still not addressed his deficiencies.
The narrative from the 19 class will be the skill positions and DL talent and depth.

Again, when petrino got here in '08, I think we had only 2 scholarship guards, love and petrus. I think Grayson walked on. We had more depth at tackle but not much proven
And had nothing behind luigs, our center who was a senior

Missed him somehow, so maybe 3. Either way we were light then and we are light now, and within 2-3 years had on of the best teams in the country

again there is a difference between unproven and dont have enough to field a true 2 deep.
it's how bielema recruited without backup plans that caused this. however we need to rectify quickly.under ccm or we will struggle

I think that's fair too, but a lot of the guys currently on the roster were highly rated guys so maybe just as much on Anderson's development

Outside of Wallace and Merrick, not really.

Froholdt was very highly recruited and Wagner was rated a 4 star at 247

As a DT, but I'll give you this because he's our best OLineman.

We really didn't beat out any decent P5 programs for his services.

You are restrained. At this point I say we burn down the university and all become cannibals.

If we had done this one year earlier, we'd have had much more meat off of those coach bones.
