I posted last year that this was supposed to be the year where we had a ton of senior players where it mattered. Well everywhere but QB. We have an easy schedule, and a team that just needs to get it together.

We need some media people to fawn over us as well like they did ole miss when they won 6 games and started claiming hugh freeze had a break out year (now I know they started cheating, but they had media hype also pushing their agenda as well for a shitty year for no reason)

We need to win all of our nonconference, beat vandy, ole miss, Mizzou. If morris is our version of gus then he will make A&M his super bowl, and seeing how close those games have been when we had fat fricks shitth coaching its possible we steal one over them.

We have a season like that, and I think it will get these in state guys attention. We could even lose to A&M, and it would still seem like an upward swing year. He could definitely sell it that way, even though the team is mostly juniors, and seniors on the lines.

Folks should be PISSED that Bielema put us in this situation. Easiest schedule in a long, long time and best instate class in a long, long time and we’re going to struggle with both because of what he did here. He may be an awesome guy but he’s going to prove to have absolutely destroyed our program during his time here.

Perhaps Petrino crashing, and Smile aided in the demise as well, although CBB didn't build jack crap!

however I am not sure what else he could do at this point. I haven't seen this amount of detail and effort going into recruiting in all my time as a fan.

this

basically it just comes down to wait and see, patience is key. see how morris does this upcoming season and see how it affects recruiting. it's still early in the recruiting cycle.

but I suppose people need something to worry and melt about so they do it over our early recruiting slump.

First it was Bert's fault that Chad signed the worst class Arkansas has ever signed in the ranking era.

Now its Bert's fault that Chad came in and immediately spouted off that Texas was his #1 recruiting priority and the top talent in Arkansas are all now looking elsewhere?

It must also be Bert's fault that in the same year with top national talent in the state and the very rare top national legacy talent available out of state that seemingly everyone wants all of them except Chad?

All the major recruiting buzz seems to surround the 2020 class right now, Bert coming in and not acknowledging Arkansas's history isn't as severe of a mistake as Chad is currently in the progress of making by glossing over Arkansas talent while effectively taking 2 years off in recruiting for the program. He is setting himself up to be Crowe bad or worst...

Actually it was. We didn’t sign the lowest rated class ever. We signed the class with the least amount of commits ever because we had no space available. Bielema would have also signed the worst class ever even if he had stayed.

In what world is Morris overlooking these guys?

The fact is that we're a garbage program right now so I can't blame these kids for looking at the blue bloods. This ain't 1980 anymore and kids aren't just going to automatically stay in state. It's a big world out there.

Get some wins and it'll turn heads. You can't kidnap these kids and make them go to Arkansas.

I get being disappointed about the number ranking, but how do folks keep forgetting this? Last I heard we were still a few spots over the 85 man limit too.

If we could give Bert 5 years then we should be able to at least give Morris the same and at least a couple of seasons without calling for his head.

So when other head coaches signed these guys in multiple sports it was because "it wouldn't have mattered who the coach was". But for Chad its "its big world out there, its not 1980 anymore" and a myriad of other excuses.

Otis with interesting timing

Otis, a grown man who's wardrobe for the last 20 years has largely consisted of the same Kobe jersey and jorts, basis his argument that he is "working hard" because he's offered every prospect out there with a pulse, given Otis's work ethic I truly believe he believes this is putting out max effort...

No. Bert came in with a proven track record, P5 conference championships, etc. Chad is no where near proven, he's the least proven HC hired since Broyles outside of Crowe by the University.

Chad comes in based on first his ability to recruit, second the fact he's not Bert, third he said Yes when Gus said NO. His offense isn't anything special, same can be had from any number of HCs in the college and HS ranks, he isn't a Petrino in this aspect.

He hasn't created buzz and excitement around the program like his predecessors did when hired.

So the only thing that will merit 5 years would be his recruiting prowess along with progression in the win column as the losses will always be Bert's fault to some for the first 3-4 years. Thus far he's living up to the aggy tradition of being all hat and no cattle in this area.

We can all agree that Petrino overall is a piss poor recruiter (really interested to see how Louisville does now that it is the dreaded year 5, the first time he's stuck around for it...), but at this point in his time here he had lured Mallett to transfer in, kept Wilson, Gragg, Wright, and Adams from leaving the state for the big world out there...

This years class is like the 08 class, the program can't afford to have them go elsewhere (which was a real possibility had Nutt been retained), it would be nice to "recruit hard" the legacy recruits out of state that everyone else is "recruiting hard" instead of sending an offer and focusing on lesser talent at the same positions elsewhere. Its is a matter of him either thinking he doesn't need these guys everyone else wants or he doesn't think he can land them...

That's correct, because I'm willing to give the guy a shot before I start wringing my hands and fretting about every little detail.

Nobody has signed anywhere. Hell, nobody has even committed. The internet says that we're in bad shape with a couple of instate guys. So what? Signing day is 8 months away. Wilkins can commit to OU but that doesn't mean anything until he signs the paper.

I'm willing to give the guy the benefit of the doubt until he has at least one full recruiting class under his belt. Let him build up some relationships, get some guys on campus, and see what happens. Outside of him wrecking a motorcycle with a blonde on it, he's not going anywhere for a few years regardless. Might as well try to get excited about the program for the first time in a few years for a change instead of getting the pitchforks out before he's ever coached a down for us.

The Pulaski Academy (Little Rock) prospect visited Stanford earlier this month. The trip seems to have gone very well and has placed the Cardinal firmly among his top choices. Up next are trips to Alabama, Clemson and Ole Miss in the very near future with a visit to Penn State coming early this summer. Those schools — along with Notre Dame and Wisconsin — are the top competition Arkansas must beat out to land Henry. How these upcoming trips turn out should be crucial for those schools and the Razorbacks.

Arkansas in-state offensive line target Stacey Wilkins will make his official visit to Fayetteville from June 13-15. The Razorbacks have had the Camden (Ark.) Fairview prospect near the top of their 2019 recruiting board for several months.

He also plans to take official visits to Texas in May and Oklahoma early in the fall.

Wilkins unofficially visited Alabama last weekend for the Crimson Tide’s spring game. He received an offer from coach Nick Saban on that trip. He now has reported offers from 19 Power 5 programs.
