Unless something changes drastically, we will see the same results in the next 30 years. I think we can compete but Arkansas will turn into a baseball/basketball school and football will just be filler. It will pay the bills but will struggle to sell out for games.

Sam will get Arkansas bowling again and that is it. That is the expectations for the fans here and that puts us on par with the mississippi schools.

But the glory days are long gone and they aren't coming back.

Honestly, You may be right. But seriously, If Sam gets us back to respectability... And we have a nice group of players, if we can find another Petrino type following... We could have a few more years of 20-11 win seasons incoming.

Not sure who that would be, but... It isn't impossible, just hard to conceive considering where we have been.

I have had season tix for 16 years now... Considering it too much of a hassle if things dont improve.

I had tickets back in 2002 but when Bert lost back to back games after leading by double digits in 2016, I was done. Instead of going 9-4, Bert lost two winnable games and it was beginning of the end for him.

I was ready for Bert to be shown the door. But instead Long made a bunch of excuses and talked this fake integrity crap on Twitter. When that happened, I dropped my tickets because I was tired of putting my money in a black hole if they didn't care a bout winning.

I had no regrets because I was tired of the laziness and the no care from the so called brass. I also believe that a lot fans probably won't come back as the program just isn't good enough to go all this trouble just to be an easy game for SEC competition. It just costs too much and it isn't fun.

1998 9-3 (8-2 regular season) 2nd in SEC lost to Michigan in citrus bowl

20002 tied 1st in sec 9-5 lost to Minnesota in music city bowl

1995 8-5 2nd in conference first in division lost to North Carolina in conquest bowl

1999 8-4 beat Texas in cotton bowl

2003 9-4 beat Missouri in independence bowl

And the rest of the time it was mostly 5,6 and occasionally 7 loss seasons but still nothing as bad as the last few years and in those seasons we are talking about we had Houston nutt,(who we all know isn’t the world greatest coach) Danny ford (after he was washed up), and Jack crow for one year when he was so bad he got fired after the first or 2nd game when he lost to the citadel. Before that our past 2 seasons were 10 win years before they ran off ken Hatfield. Now maybe you believe it’s the sec that caused us to not be as good but I’m gonna say that considering the only time we had a truly elite coach in the last 30 years we went 5-7,8-5,10-3,11-2 that it’s not the conference it’s been the shittastic hires the administration has had. Hell the basketball team hadn’t been to the sweet 16 since 1995 before this year. Is it because the sec is a world beater in round ball? Or is it because up until this year we didn’t have a coach worth a damn? You seriously have so little of understanding of how sports work I’d really wish you’d either sit back shut up and watch or find a new hobby. You can’t even tell what your watching when a games on tv you just think “hurr durr we losing more than past, sec too hard!!! Hurr durr”

That’s rich. You’re taking two seasons from over a decade ago and saying the record shows we can compete in this conference. It doesn’t, those years were outliers.

By the way, this is pathetic:

20002 tied 1st in sec 9-5 lost to Minnesota in music city bowl

When you get blown out in the SEC championship game and you were only there because of a technicality, that’s not “tied for 1st.” Have some self respect.

I saw the covid thing coming and didn’t renew last year for the first time in like 20 years. My wife called and my seats from before weren’t available. Of course was offered bad seats and declined. Kind of surprised that demand would be up that much.

Either way will go to a couple game using a secondary market and save a ton of money.

I feel like if you win 9 regular season games that’s a solid season no? We lost the conference championship game and bowl game but I wouldn’t call that year pathetic. Tell me how much football have you played in your life? I played from the time I was 7 until I was 21 and have coached it in Louisiana for another 7. I’ve coached and played against multiple d1 players and have a pretty good grasp of the game. I can remember vividly multiple times under Bert when I, as a fricking high school coach, could predict what the opposing team was gonna do to our defense because of how simple the shite we were running was. One that first comes to mind is his last year vs the aggies. It’s 4th and 3 and if we get a stop we win the game. On the tv I see our corners are playing 7 yards off the ball vs trips and so the iso receiver has a corner 7 yards off of him with nobody between him and brooks Ellis sitting in the middle of the field. I told my girlfriend as we were sitting at Buffalo Wild Wings “they’re about to throw an out or a slant for the first down we’re giving it to them.” Next play is a 7 yard slant for the first down. They go on to score we go on to lose. He was a HORRIBLE in game coach. That had nothing to do with A&M having more talent than we did and had everything to do with the fat moron walking our sideline

You calling that season “tied for 1st” is what’s pathetic.

Without WMS we would have only won 3 games.

None of those years are memorable. Very average and poorly coached teams.

It was an underwhelming year because the Nutt lost some winnable games in Tennessee and Kentucky. Alabama was the best in the West that year. We had no business facing Georgia with a one dimensional offense.

Then we laid a turd against Minnesota who was on a four game losing streak at that time.

Dude has a point....

Nutt was the coach, while playing around with his significant other, his wife freaking out, Danny with brain surgeries, and his ego causing him major issues.

We weren't terrible, and were competitive a few seasons.

FWIW!

Petrino was perfect for us, until.... He wasn't!
