Bama completely controlled the game and was the better team but missed 4 FGs and had the int that should have been caught at the goal line. LSU had 222 yds in regulation, Bama 300.

Bama proved that they had the decisively better team in the rematch. That it is tough to win again in the rematch is a myth. At the time of the Bama/LSU game, the winner of the SEC reg season game was 5-1 in the SECC game rematch.

Why? Alabama missed four FGs.

Those teams played 8 quarters plus overtime. One touchdown was scored between the 2 of them.

So missing 4 FGs in a defensive game is not “unacceptable”?

Calling a loss to one of the best teams ever in the “Game of the Century” as “unacceptable” definitely comes across as a reach.

You’ve apparently missed the point in the OP entirely. By your definition, most of the games listed can’t be considered “unacceptable”.

1. 2013 Auburn. Bama was the better team, but just couldn't get out of it's own way. But, this game had it all. Bad execution, poor coaching decisions, and not to mention a few bad calls that weren't made.

2. 2016 Clemson. Had the game in hand most of the way, then just let it slip away. Even scoring too quickly cost us in the end. Even as good as Deshawn Watson was late in the game, we should not have lost the game.

3. 2010 Auburn. Overall Auburn had a pretty good team, so losing to them wasn't egregious. It's just how Alabama lost and how many missed opportunities were wasted. Obviously the weird Ingram fumble, Trent dropping a pass in the endzone, etc.

4. 2011 LSU. Most certainly LSU was a top quality team and largely destroyed every other team they played that year, but Alabama just should not have lost that home game. Once again, the kicking game let the Tide down, but also the offense decisions were just too timid all night.

5. 2007 Louisiana Monroe. Perhaps this was a blessing in disguise, but to have lost this game was idiotic. Almost like Saban was saying, "Screw it".

2014 Ohio State tops all of these.

And I would argue that the ULM loss was a necessary evil in purging the cancers on the team and establishing returning underclassmen like Rashad Johnson as the realleaders on the team.

2010 LSU never gets talked about because it’s overshadowed by the USCe and AU losses but there was zero reason we should’ve lost that game. We were still in the title hunt and just had zero energy or emotion in that game.

Well, there is one reason: they were better than us in 2010.

2017 Iron Bowl. As much as I love him it was past time to move off Jalen Hurts. Bama wins going away with any semblance of a passing attack.
2017 Clemson. The 15 non-offensive touchdowns season. Best defense fielded at Bama since 92-93 yet somehow Clemson ran 99 plays. Still managed to be up 4 with 2 minutes left and simply ran out of gas.
2013 Iron Bowl. No explanation needed.
2015 Ole Miss. the 5 turnover game. Everything that could have gone wrong did on one afternoon.
2015 Ohio State. Bama was the better team. Historic season by Cooper. Only time I've ever thought a Saban team was less prepared than the opponent.

1. 2013 Auburn - Controlled the game for the majority and had the ball 2 times deep in Auburn territory in the 4th quarter with the chance to go up 10 points. Came away with 0 points.

Yeah and I knew something bad was brewing when Foster made the late field goal only to have it called back by a phantom penalty. One of the O lineman flinched. They backed it up five yards and he kicked it about 5 feet off the ground which was subsequently blocked.

1) 2010 Auburn. At least from looking at it at the half. We had that game under control. We just didn't finish, we didn't make their arse quit, all the things we were known for. I know they had an otherworldly guy at QB.

But this allowed them to win a Natty, their only one in the modern era.

This is much, much worse than 2013 IMO because that was a closer game, and I think we were gassed and didn't like our OT chances anyway.

2) 2018 Clemson - don't know about "unacceptable" but it is the worst arse whipping we've taken and on the biggest stage. I know Tua was hurt and we were dinged up. That one was hard to take. But it happens.

Have to say, all loses were the worse most Unacceptable in my life time... but looking at the listing... yes, they all were, but one that took the wind out of my sails... the 2007 loss at State... (the last time Miss State beat Bama)... JPW played a bad game (not that this was his worse game, but!!!) and think this set up the UL-Monroe loss...and I have a ton of Cousins in Miss that still try to gloat about this game.'

Imagine if freshman RB Derrick Henry got in the neighbourhood of 12 to 16 touches against Auburn in 2013. Bama wins that game.

That is number one for me for "unacceptable losses". That LSU offense was absolutely atrocious, and the defense proceeded to fold over vs Jarret Lee and Jordan Jefferson. That and the inexcusable turnovers.
