Seems like Cecil Hurt is beginning to push for this.
I'm against the cancelling. It appears way too much of "wimping out".
But, I understand injuries can happen, too.
What say you?

Nah. Lets win Mac this Heisman, beat the top 11 SEC teams not named Alabama, and do everything we can to secure the 1 seed.

Plus if we were to lose to Florida, quantity of games played becomes a factor in getting in the Playoffs

I think the only way that happens is if they have to cancel Florida/LSU.

Other than that, I don't know why we wouldn't play.

Play the game.

We get time off after the SEC title game.

I will say - I don't think the crux of the "don't play" argument is injuries or a bye week or anything normal season related.

I think the crux of it is every time you travel you risk exposure to COVID stuff, and if that happens that week then both teams are in deep shite both for the SECCG and even possibly a 1st round playoff game.

Further, it would look like we (the SEC) would be following the lead of the ACC.
Which is a terrible precedent.

Sankey already blasted them for their decision this week.

I hope he wouldn't backtrack on it.

Hopefully the SEC adopts the new CDC guidelines. My daughter has it so the rest of us are in quarantine. We were initially told by the school our boys needed to stay home for 14 days even though they don't have any symptoms. My daughter, on the other hand, could return in 10 days.

Thankfully, the school called today and said if our boys get a negative test this weekend they can return on Tuesday.

Thanks. We're literally staying home because she lost her sense of taste for one day. The day after her test her taste came back.

Now we're trying not to kill each other.

I see both sides of it. I want to play as many games as we can. At the same time--Bama could cancel LSU, Arky and Florida and have the #1 seed in the playoffs locked up at 8-0. Every game from here until the playoffs could be considered an unnecessary risk from injuries and covid exposure. I personally want to play them all, but if the SEC canceled the Arkansas game, I wouldn't lose any sleep over it.

On an unrelated note--does Saban let players go home for Christmas a week before the semi-final game? Seems like this major rash of covid in CFB happened around fall break and thanksgiving when players across the country went home and brought the junk back to their bubbles on campus. I really hope Saban keeps the team in the bubble through the holidays. Last thing we need is a rash of covid right before we play ND or OSU.

I am generally opposed to it. However if LSU-Florida ends up canceled for one reason or another it'd be bullshite for them to get a bye while we do not.

The SEC's goal is for all postponed games to be rescheduled and played. The schedules for Dec 12 & 19 are expected to be announced today.

ETA: Tomorrow's Vandy-UGA game has been postponed to 12/19.

Cecil seems like the type of guy that would vote for Kamala Harris so if he's advocating the cancellation of a game I wouldn't be surprised.
