You have to win! Gymnastics and Softball have been big winners in the recent years with national chapionships.

You have to win to get the fans interested.

I’m underwhelmed too. If she turns out to be great, super and I will eat my words, but if we weren’t going to try to make at least a ripple let alone a splash with this hire, I’d have taken a chance on Madonna.

I will be surprised if Ace Austin isn’t running plays for her daddy next season.

We don’t need to throw zillions into a money losing sport but we need to either s**t or get off the pot when it comes to women’s basketball.

2012 isn't all that recent. They've maintained advanced competitiveness, but the last titles occurred before the current freshman even started kindergarten.

FYI only - the Washington coach originally from Alabama:
quote:

BREAKING: Washington Huskies and women’s basketball coach Tina Langley agree on a six-year, $7.1M extension that extends through the 2031-32 season. In five seasons, Langley has led UW to an 83-71 record, including back-to-back NCAA tournament appearances.

Is this a good hire?

Best hire he could come up with since he had no money to offer and no money for players. Could not attract a major coach so he went this route. Pretty simple math! Even if they were winning big time, not sure they could make a profit?

Roster is currently looking a bit rough. Pauline has her work cut out for her.

Not that it matters, but I’m still counting three - Ace and Tianna have announced their return; haven’t seen where Leah has announced her intention to enter the portal nor to return (so I’m still counting her for now). Pauline has to hire a staff and get to getting.

Only so much money and Womens BB is losing money. Will invest the majority in Football and Basketball. Those programs make money.

Just shows she was on her way out and didn't care. Her and Byrnes might have been at each other and that was her way of sticking it to him. Hope the new coach can recruit. At the end of the day the best players win the most games.

Who cares. Women's sports do not exist in SEC to make money, but to build prestige.

The jewels on a crown do not make money, but show how wealthy the crown wearer is.
