Not force Michigan to vacate every win where it can be verified they illegally scouted an opponent?
Alabama is forced to vacate wins over some players selling text books for a few hundred dollars.

Or signing fricking napkins.

The thing there is it was proven Stallings lied about it.

The textbook thing wasn't under Stallings.
The NCAA hasn't ruled on the Michigan case yet, right? I think the Big 10 is the one behind the Michigan suspension.

I meant the Langham napkin reference. That was under Stallings and he lied about it to the NCAA.

I doubt that Gene Stallings outright lied about it. He was far more ethical than the NCAA investigator in the case, who was a biased piece of crap. If you recall, the NCAA had to settle out of court for nearly a million dollars for lying about a UA faculty member and defaming him. Of course, they just waited and screwed Bama even more when they got a chance.

They might; but the NCAA won’t rule on this for probably two years.

BOWL BAN........ and make Michigan have to schedule Hawaii after Ohio State.

Because they have to give a 90 day notice period before they can do so

This is where twitter, facebook, etc can actually be a valuable tool. Ask the right people on social media if the law will be enforced equally. If not, why ?

Uh, I hate to burst your bubble but Gene Stallings did NOT lie to the NCAA. When the story started circulating, he asked Langham about it, Langham denied the story and Coach Stallings made the mistake of trusting and believing Langham.
When Rich Johanningmeier from the NCAA came into CGS's office and literally called him a liar, Coach Stallings literally grabbed Johanningmeier and shoved him out of his office, which in hindsight probably didn't do Alabama any favors.
Bottom line, Coach Stallings did NOT knowingly mislead or lie to the NCAA.

Stallings backed his player who told him he did not sign anything. Player lied to his face. Pretty much the reason he decided to retire.
Edit: A hour late. What I get for not reading the whole thread.

stallings kept playing a player that was in the crosshairs of the ncaa. lied or didnt lie, lied to or not lied to, i have no idea. however, i do know he chose the player over the team and university and the team and university got burned. while the player went on to an nfl career. so in my opinion stallings is just as responsible for the sanctions as anybody
