I can't think of any reason besides it being an FU to UCF. I'm not sure it will really help recruiting in the area. We already kill it throughout Florida. Maybe Cuban misses good Cuban food?

Get to play in a pro stadium and use it as a test run for a playoff game/SECCG. Better than playing Mercer.

Because they play in a potential playoff stadium and that's what it took for them to agree to come here twice? I have no problem with it.

I like it. Great location for fans to travel and we get 2 home games against an AAC team in return. And its not like they are the marquee OOC game in any of the seasons that we'll play them

2nd closest game to me, behind at UF. I have several former teammates who are closer to USF than UF. It's also the largest city we are scheduled to play in until those great BC games.

Is there a big Cuban food scene in Tampa?

I am PUMPED about this game.

The Tide are coming to me and I can probably get tickets for ~$30.

That's really cool. I figured the legit Cuban food scene was mostly just in Miami.

How many of those games are going to go away due to possible scheduling requirements and them not being power 5 opponents? By 2025, we will almost have to play at least 9 conference games and with CNS's desire to play at least one big time OOC opponent a year, that will eliminate at least one of those cupcake games per season. I don't think all those cream puff games will survive, even the decent ones like USF are in danger of being eliminated.

Ybor city also has some good Dominican food. I would take a bowl of Sancocho or Mondongo right now.

There are some great side joints to eat around there but also worth it to go to Columbia for food and dancing there in Ybor if they still are doing the show.

You can get a good Reuben in room of places. But good luck finding legit ropa vieja to empanadas, or boliche. Closest y'all find is a decent bottle of mojo from Publix.

Probably 2nd to Miami. It's an old Cuban influenced city. It just didn't maintain as much culture influence as Miami did.

USF is Tampa. Cuban pop is heaviest in actual south FL.. miami-dade is Havana north.

That said, Tampa is awesome. Orlando sucks.

I like it! Wish we'd get Hawaii back on the schedule

I don’t think these games will ever fully go away. There’s too much benefit to the schools getting to play more than half their games at home, getting wins and just having more fanbases invested in FBS football.

Most SEC programs have been adamant about not going to 9 conference games, so it’s hard for me to imagine a true P4 split. There’s not much benefit when the power conferences already control the postseason selection process.
