I saw a video of the dignitaries/cast showing up to the premiere at The Lyric.

It got me thinking, I wonder what DeBoer thinks/will think about the movie. I haven’t seen or read much else about but I assume since he’s only been here about 18 months he’s not part of it.

He doesn’t seem as egotistical as some coaches but I would think anybody might get tired of hearing about the “legends” that came before you. Bryant and Saban are bigger than life and there’s no way to avoid or downplay their significance in building Bama into what it is.

So far he seems to be smart enough to embrace it - particularly by using Saban to his advantage - and let it work for him.

My dad's neighbor is Walter Lewis. Dad stopped to talk to him about it the other day, and Walter said its pretty much only about Bear and Saban, highlighting the things they dealt with and how those things differ/coincide. Its gonna run between 60/40 and 75/25 Bear to Saban.

I’m excited as hell. Got my tickets to watch it in NOLA at the theater in the Quarter. Might pregame at some bars so I can yell Roll Tide at the screen every time something good happens.

Caleb Castille on Adam Carolla

Castille did a great media spot on the Adam Carolla show. It will be at 1:31:00. Adam loves football and his commentary is great. Caleb seems to be a talented filmmaker

I think coach Deboer is glad he didnt have to take time to do this or be in this movie. Its not about him. Hes got his own story to create

Walter Lewis is a humble man. When my dad talked with him, Walter didn't mention that he would have a section of the movie dedicated to himself. Watching it now. Its been pretty good. My only 3 complaints are that its kinda blurry because its digital and not actual film, the main voice over is kinda over the top, and the Bear Bryant voice over is hard to understand at times.

Been a fun watch though.

Edit: You know what? That was a great Doc. And seeing Bear read his daily speech out at the end on a movie screen was worth the price of admission. I’ve always found that motivational. That was a powerful ending.

Just got out of the movie. Very well done. It didn't cover everything, but then again you can't do that without making it 10 hours long.

Jalen Hurts had the best line of the whole thing. If you know, you know.

Croom saying he still dreams about Bear hit me like a truck.

esit: I do believe they should have had at least a small snippet on Deboer. At least interview him.

You really come to love and respect those guys in the 1970s and early 1980s.

A) Saddled

b) Curry wasnt a bad coach IMHO, but obviously Bowden should have been hired

c) I've never heard Lewis's name in connection with that situation.

Wimp Sanderson was in attendance when I saw the movie. It was good to see another Bama icon. I am sure the man has some stories to tell which makes me miss the Wimp and Sonny days.
