Dan Mullen is available and has a pretty good OC resume. Weirdo of a guy though, idk how much Saban likes or dislikes him.

Joe Brady is currently a NFL QB coach, not sure if he would be interested or not.

Who are some other good options?

Most definitely don't want Dan Mullen. Joe Brady doesn't like to recruit if I'm not mistaken but if he does shoot give him a try.

AJ Milwee is my top choice for many reasons. He can RECRUIT (Arch Manning) and DEVELOP (Tua, Mac, & Bryce) players. He's been here before so he understands what Nick Saban wants and the players love him.

He's a BAMA GUY!

A young offensive coordinator with a high ceiling.

I wouldnt mind Mullen, he has two NCs as an OC at Florida and has shown he can adapt to fit different personnel.

That year he had Kyle Trask who was a drop back passer was probably the best offense he has had.

I think he would do a great job with Simpson.

The more I think about it...Mullen could be a great addition because he knew how to get speedy/quick guys the ball in space.

His wife don't need to be kissing on everybody though.

I'm so/so with him. Looking at his resume, I'm not convinced he has enough experience to be an OC at Bama at the moment. Maybe I'm being too paranoid because I want this hire to be perfect but seeing as how he was only an offensive analyst at Bama and a QB coach at Texas, I'm not quite sold on him.

I think his connection to Sark is why part of me would support the hire but then again, we shouldn't hire coaches based on who they worked under. I can only name one Saban disciple who turned out worth a shite.

Milwee ran the offense when Saban had to sit out with COVID. The offense ran pretty good too me up under him.

He doesn't have that name like everybody else but every offensive coordinator in the country tried to get Arch Manning to commit to their school but he chose Texas because of AJ Milwee.

I would be ecstatic over just about every name in this thread over BOB.

Warren Ruggiero, Garrett Riley, or AJ Milwee. I think it will probably be AJ.

Are y’all sure? I’m always a bit skeptical of OCs with great offensive head coaches. Dykes was putting up points before Garrett Riley came along.

I’m not opposed to it. Hell if the receivers aren’t colliding into each other on routes, it’s an improvement on Coach Boob.

I’m just saying the jury is still out more than TCU’s offense statistics might suggest.

I’ll throw a completely off the beaten path pick out there - Mark Whipple. He’s taken a lot of bad jobs on in his career, but when he’s had talent, like 2021 Pitt, the guy can coach a great multiple offense.

I’d like to see us get back to more multiple looks like we were doing under Sark than mostly just spread.

Dykes says Riley plans and calls the offense going back to SMU, he prefers to be hands off and focus on the team as a whole.

He hired Riley because of aligned philosophy, but also because of the running game concepts Riley was heavily involved with at App State. They actually run the ball more than pass at TCU, 56% of the time it's a run play.

You kinda have to find a balance between too experienced(career retread) and too young(glorified "gofer"). I don't expect the hire to be any name actually in this thread.

Duggan just declared for the draft, so I'm taking that as a sign that Riley is coming to Bama and Duggan didn't want to have to work with a new OC.
