I'm tired of looking for a quality thread discussing this. But if there is one a link would suffice.

The problem with losing Dickerson is that we lost the guy who called the blocking assignments at the line. This kid is very smart and KNOWS how to read defenses and get the OL where they need to be!
That's gonna be our biggest problem going forward, and you can bet your arse that defenses will test us to see how we adapt.

Owens has got experience. But most of it involved getting his shite pushed in. He is nowhere near the physical player that LD is.

He's gonna have to get mean. LD was the meanest sumbitch out there. But I think we are replacing a mack truck with a Nissan frontier.

Maybe we should take Owens bumper and make him get a piece of wood to replace it.

He aimed to punish every single snap.

Really gonna miss him

Beast. My favorite on the team this year. He is so fun to watch out there and seems to be a damn good human too. When our whole team went on the field to check on Landon, it brought tears to my eyes.

Only when Owens is playing OT.

Well is Owens any good? Will this screw our run game up?

We just lost an all american center.

He's not good at center. He may be good at another position, but not at center. He really struggled being pushed into the pocket last season which is why he was eventually replaced. Being pushed into the pocket disrupts the rhythm of the passing game, and obviously makes it easier for teams to defend the run.

I'm hoping for these solutions in order:

1. Dalcourt gets his opportunity, and everyone stays in place.

2. 55 slides over to center, and we pick the next best guard to put into 55 place.

I think Dalcourt might get a shot before we start shifting folks around too much.

Probably an LSU fan. They can’t stand LD.

I agree and think we are most likely preparing for that possibility based on opponent ND first and then the winner of the other game. Also Owens or maybe even Randolph could maybe play the Right Tackle spot with Neal sliding in at right guard if 55 moves to center.
I am not sure if Randolph can handle it for 4qt , because he been playing big TE so much.
I though Neal had an avg game against Fla and it may have been because he sat out the arky game. But like Leatherwood step up in the Natty maybe one of the young ones steps up if Owens struggles.Owens main issue as far back as the duke game is he comes out his stance to high and gives ups leverage.

Damn at the downvotes in this thread.

I didn't think twice when i bitched about getting suspended from BamaNation/Tidefans, and got downvotes, cause many here have probably had Earl give them that "I run this place" shite.
I just threw it in cause I joined there when AOL was the predominant ISP

But a few of the above posts don't seem worthy of down votes.

I do appreciate info on replacing LD. He has been an anchor on our OL and is also very intelligent. His size and tenacity, giving it his all on every play is hard to replace.
It's why a team like OSU that hasn't had to play top competition 11 times this year is healthy, while we've lost two of our most dominating players.
I just wanted some reassurance we were still good at center.
Roll fricking Tide.

Chris Owens has got better this year. this is more about mentality than physicality for him. He has to be a mutherfricker on the field. Dickerson will be on sideline and he'll cuss out Owens.

I’ll miss his play and leadership. Won’t miss the dancing.
