He mentioned WRs and DBs specifically so I’m guessing it was either Kool-Aid or Jackson. Given that Kool-Aid was playing some before the natty I’d guess it wasn’t him.

I wouldnt classify Moore as getting an opportunity against UGA.

Saban said that it was three receivers who he was referring to. He also said that the championship game was their opportunity for increased playing time and to prove themselves.

So I don't think it was Billingsley. As much as Saban has an issue with him, Billingsley isn't a receiver (debatable, but I think TE is seperate), and more importantly the championship game wasn't exactly his first opportunity because he saw the field plenty all season.

Important to note as well that Jones-Bell and Baker really didn't get any playing time at receiver, even with the injuries. The players who came in were Holden, Brooks, Hall, and Earle. I would not count Leary among the guys in play because he was mostly playing at RB.

Earle I think has to be on the list. He came in early in the game, did nothing, and wasn't seen again. Seems like coaches wanted to see if he could give us a boost but quickly saw we were just better with Slade full time.

Hall is an obvious pick.

So is the 3rd Brooks or Holden? I'll go Holden because Saban gushed earlier in the season about Brooks' work ethic and practice habits.

So that's my guess: Jojo, Hall, Holden.

The mention of corners was separate from the discussion about receivers. He specifically said "three receivers" multiple times.

Hall, Baker and Jackson.

Those were the one who wanted playing time and when it's time...well Hall and Jackson was okay.

He said the 3 wrs and said they played without the top 3 corners. Never mentioned the corners as having an issue with playing time, basically just said they were thrown into the fire.

Missed the second half of the season with an injury. Try again.

Hall posted a cryptic tweet presumably about the speech. I loved how he was Bama's biggest recruiter last year but its becoming apparent that he has no filter on social media. That's fine if you're Kevin Durant but he is an unproven diva that was last seen dropping 2 game changing passes in the National Championship after complaining about playing time all year.

Didn’t realize that, thanks for the info. Still didn’t look great in the opportunities he got through the year, but I’m optimistic for his future in the slot.

Is it outside the realm of possibility that Billingsley was one? People do refer to TEs as receivers at times.

Certainly not outside the realm of possibility. My primary reason for thinking it’s not Billingsley is that Saban’s comments referenced several times that these were guys who were not playing much if at all in games before Jamo and Metchie went down. Billingsley, for better or worse, played substantial snaps for most of the year.

Whether Saban was referencing Billingsley or not , he was certainly one who loafed throughout the year and wasted his opportunities. That’s why he is not with the team anymore.
Can you imagine not being motivated to do your best in a National Championship game?

I think it’s more about being motivated for the day to day grind.
