And they scored 35 vs Miami. Guess Miami's defense sucks too?

Soooo, tell me specifically which SEC team over the past 18 Conference games “would have scored a lot more”?
So far no one has ever surpassed 27 offensive points in SEC play since Vandy in 2024.
I’m still waiting for it to happen, and as soon as an SEC opponent does score over 27 points (on offense), then I’ll be on the “fire Wommack” train.
The guy “never adjusts” but held 4 of the 8 SEC opponents to 7 or less in the 2nd half last year….

“Annoyed with the offense” is like saying you are only “annoyed” by your car costing you 5K in repairs every week

You call me out and I don’t “downvote” you,
I replied and I’ve asked you to respond to my question. Like actually provide an explanation and all you can do is “downvote”…..you know why?
Bc you can’t

I thought our young defenders played inspired ball.
If we can get some of the guys healthy over the break we will have some starters and some depth back.

Eh, I think we are a mid team that has the potential to play above our heads or way below it. Offensively or defensively. I’m not impressed in the least with either of our coordinators but I don’t do the hiring or the firing so it really doesn’t matter.
I’ve been a fan since the Bear days. I’ve even seen Memphis state beat us in person. This brand of football isn’t my thing but this brand of college football is quickly becoming not my thing either. I’m afraid it will become too much like the pros which I enjoy when I watch. But it doesn’t bother me a bit to miss an entire Sunday of football. And that sucks.
I think that sure, there are a lot of crazy upsets now but overall, the product as a whole, is down.

Defense surrendered fewer than 300 yards.
If Saban was walking the sideline half of you would be sucking his dick for this performance.
I know we're spoiled, but I didn't know we were that spoiled.

I haven’t downvoted any of your posts.
If the defense has a good performance I’ll absolutely come on here and commend them. I’m not even saying the defense is absolutely terrible, but I’m frustrated seeing us give up easy stuff and not adjusting to take some of that away. Tennessee did it to put us away last week and we did nothing about it.

You’re a good poster and positive contributor to this board. And you pull good stats to make your case, but the numbers never tell the entire story.
It was looking grim for the defense through three quarters today against a putrid A&M offense. That said, we are down multiple key, crucial players on defense.
My issue with simply pointing to the box score numbers is that what I see on the field, for at least half of what seems like every game, is a defense that is chasing instead of hunting. Lots of missed tackles. Lots of blown assignments. Cannot consistently set the edge. Gashed in the run game. And the biggest thing in my opinion is that we do not force a one dimensional offense to beat us with what they struggle with the most.
I won’t argue with you about the notion that we should win nearly every game in which the other team is held to the low-20s on the scoreboard. You are entirely correct there. The offense has to produce at a much higher level than they have the last 3 weeks.
But I would not lose a second of sleep if Kane Wommack walked tomorrow.

And I hear everything you’re saying about the number of points we’ve given up, but what I saw in the second half against Tennessee was supremely frustrating. They couldn’t throw down the field but we kept giving them the easy stuff that allowed them to sustain drives. That contributed greatly to the loss (though it wasn’t the only reason, obviously). It looked like Texas A&M was going to do the same early in the game today and we continued to play way off.
I shouldn’t have started a thread calling you out. That was a dick move on my part. I did while pissed during the game. I apologize for that.

Who the frick cares? If the defense had stopped them, the offense was gonna go 3 and out. Like they did ALLLLLLLLLL day.

Bama D had a pick-6 and another pick that setup a FG despite the offense failing to convert a 1st down….thats TEN points the defense scored themselves.
So that’s a net of 10 points for the A&M defense.
Again, you guys cannot grasp that A&M got 4 more possessions than they did vs LSU.
Not to to mention they are missing 3 of their top 6 players and they just KEEP playing and keep playing.
NEVER do they give in to Grubb’s bullshite. As much as you hate they just keep bringing and keep fighting and scrapping possession after possession after possession
And as much as you crickets wish they would fold and give in and give up a 40 spot like a Golding defense, they flat out REFUSE

Correct.
But Pete can get 40+ drilled on him 7 times and 50+ twice bc CNS was here.
Imagine the defense having a Georgia-style ball-control offense that sustains drives and flips the field AND doesn’t beat themselves

??? Dude, Pete Golding was HATED by the majority of this fanbase by year 2. And Pete was hated for many of the same reasons that Wommack catches so much flak for. Can’t get off the field on third down, dialing up ineffective blitzes at questionable times, etc. I don’t know a single Alabama fan that didn’t want Pete Golding fired years before we parted ways.

The goal of any defense is to:
- limit points
- limit yards
- force turnovers
Only OU has been ahead of them in Scoring and Total in the SEC since 2024.
The amount of turnovers they create is nuts by any standard (2nd most in all of CFB since 2024 and 2nd currently as well).
Most defensive TDs in all of CFB too
I’ll trade some passes in the flats with #5 playing way off if it comes with the fewest pints allowed by a Bama D since 2017 (in 2024), fewest yards allowed since 2018 (2025), currently on track to surpass 2016 defense in take-aways.
That’s with an offensive-minded HC and a cocksucker OC who cares more about stats for his (hopefully) next job out West where he wants to be and belongs.
Meanwhile, the defense is keeping this program afloat. They have 3 more losses at least lady year with that “offense” that even Ty couldn’t sustain a drive in after week 7.
