Because so many of you hate my other thread about "thoughts on this team", I thought I'd bring you this.

They're not there yet, BUT, if this team continues to improve, and I have no reason to think they won't, it could be the best team Saban has had at Alabama. The defense might already be one of the best. The offense has the talent. Jalen Hurts has been good, and has the potential to be one of the best to toss a ball for Bama. The offensive line has talent, and while they've struggled at times, I don't think they've been any worse than most of the other Bama O-lines in the first two weeks. The pass blocking actually looks much improved over last year already. And I think they will be able to run block just fine too, once they build some chemistry.

So prolific offense + ridiculous defense = see you in the playoffs!

But, they do have to continue to improve for that to happen, and some lucky bounces always help.

The offense is very young and will only get better. If your going to beat Bama this year, you better beat them early. When the offense gels and the freshman QB gets experience, look out.

They say essentially the same thing. This one is just more upbeat.

I do want to see Lane give up his fascination with jet action and we just concentrate on a power run game. No finesse, no pretense. Just have the OLine put their hands in the dirt and drive people off the ball. I think we could be quite good in that regard. And Hurts will be absolutely filthy on 2nd and 4, 2nd and 3, etc. Our vertical passing game will annihilate people if we are denting face masks with the run game.

I agree that we can become a better team than we are now. Duh. I think we are elite as frick right now. We have a defense that is NFL quality in talent, scheme and execution. There isn't a better leader than Jonathan Allen and our offense isn't anything to sneeze at. In fact I think you will see the running game take off tomorrow and even as a freshman Hurts is already one of the best in the SEC. Sure we will get better but we are the best college football team in America right now.

It's a four quarter game. Lane runs a lot of jet to get the opposing D good and gassed knowing they don't have our depth and the horses to go the distance with Bama.

I'm hyped for tomorrow. I was worried about the game, but the closer to kickoff we get the more excited I am.

I'm thinking Bama rolls by 17 now.

Just curious but didn't you predict an Alabama loss? You have went from losing to a 17 point win in a few days? Better late than never I guess. Roll Tide.

Yup. My first thoughts probably stemmed from a sloppy showing against WKU.

Don't get me wrong, it's Jalen's first road start. Oxford will be rowdy. Ole Miss knows they HAVE to win to keep their dreams alive.

But no one is beating Saban three years in a row, not at this stage of his career. He'll have em ready.

I was worried about the running game afterwards but I think we will do well Saturday. If not Coach will beat em through the air. I am surprisingly very confident. This defense is going to make history and that says a lot considering our past defenses. We won't need to score much to win this one imo.

We are going to find out today if our defense is actually elite or just really good. Ole Miss is a stern test for the defense, especially the secondary.

Just like the guy in the movie Red Dragon said, we are witnesses to a great BECOMING.

Best Saban team ever? It's hard to pick a "best" when there's a measure of subjectivity.

Which National Champion is the best of all time?

Which Superbowl Champion is the best of all time?

Which guitar player is the best of all time?

Which woman is the best looking woman of all time?

Or, if you are an Ole Miss fan: Which man is the best looking man of all time?

These are all questions without a definitive answer.

But I like it

My tune hasn't changed at all. Y'all just aren't good at reading. My other thread said the same thing, but focused more on what needs to be fixed. This thread just gave you the rah rah you crave.
