Are they overrated to begin with?

Does the ST coaching suck?

Are they under too much pressure?

Should a kicker lose a star when he commits to Bama? Bizzaro Bama bounce.

We were going for leg strength over accuracy for a while. We kept using recommendations/ratings from the same kicking camp it seems.

I believe Reichard will pan out.

I honestly believe Alabama kickers should be kept isolated from the coaching staff. Only texted when time to go kick.

Bama should stop recruiting kickers and just go after grad transfer kickers.

Agreed. He's talented. The guy's only played three college games and people are already melting down.

I sometimes wonder if it has something to do with the strength and conditioning the kickers go through.I think it could possibly make them lose their fluid kicking motion by bulking up so much.

You mean like the kid from Temple who had missed something like one PAT in 3 years until he got to Tuscaloosa and missed half a dozen?

I think we should have Mac Jones holding, how would you
to be the kicker that broke Tua hand, I know i would think about it on every kick.

We sold our soul to the recruiting gods. You can have all of the five star players at any position and all will be studs but one position. What position will always be a miss Bama? Saban chose kicker.

I think they already know about the kicker misfortunes & they probably get jokes like, are you the one whose gonna break the curse, so its already in their head whether it be an xtra point or fg attempt no matter the distance.

Based on how long NFL kickers careers last and how few new kickers even make it to that level, I'm going to say it's a much more difficult task than many people think.

Even the best ever in college football peaked out around 90%. That's 1 miss in every 10 attempts.

I have heard more than a few instances about how little time is actually spent between the snapper, holder and kicker during regular practice sessions. Most of the time the kicker is just using his kicking tee.

It's very much a mental job being a kicker. I'll never forget 1998 playoffs Minnesota's Gary Anderson for the season was like 35 for 35 field goals & made all 69 xtra points, 100% success rate. Their playing the Atlanta Falcons. Winner goes to the Super Bowl. End of the game if he makes a simple 35 yarder, game over, Vikings go the Superbowl. The pressure was to much & he missed his 1 & only most important of the season. Falcons went on to lose to the Broncos.

The missed XP was surprising but this kid is a real talent. He will be ALL-SEC at some point. Great leg and great lift. I actually expect us to make kicks now when we line up. He will only get better and he isn’t half bad already.

The results actually say otherwise and that's all we have to go on.
