What did we think about the WR’s? Rotations, their play, talent, blocking?

Hall not playing again is telling. Something is going on there.
Metchie is more than a good #2. He’s a slightly below average #1. Which is good and means he’s awesome.
Williams is who we thought he was. Poor man’s Smitty and we need to force him some deep stuff because he has the talent to make it work.
Bryce was brilliant, too.

Billingsley is a better OJ Howard and needs to be a focus

We only had one drop. Resulted in an int, but still

The only FROSH we see is JOJO which is very telling

Jameson is a pretty awful blocker compared to what we're used to, but he fast

That's the only FROSH receiver I see

Did AHall even get on the field? I thought for sure he would play some in the second half after Saban praised him so much.

I thought Slade looked solid tonight.
On the Oline the most interesting thing I saw was George is the backup RT and Latham was working at RG.

Jacorey Brooks played, not sure who else.

The only problem with Slade is that he gets no extra yardage after the catch. If he makes the catch before the 1st down marker he's not getting the 1st.

The one time he made someone miss was on a punt return and it was called back because of holding.
It’s nice to see Billingsley get involved again. I think he’s a legit 1st round talent.
Someone mentioned Williams and blocking; one of the many areas our old elite receivers excelled at were being excellent blockers. Ruggs, Smith, Jeudy, Waddle, and going all the way back to Julio. This year’s don’t seem to be as good. Metchie is decent at it though.

Sure was annoying to see Bryce get his first ever INT on an absolute DIME. It was possibly his best throw of the night.
I was excited to see Latu and Bills getting more targets downfield. Robbie Outz is built like a gladiator- seeing him play FB is fun cause somebody gone git F'd up.

I think Billingsley is our best all around receiver; he runs good routes, he can get open, he can catch in a crowd, and he has good hands. I hope he’s out of Saban’s doghouse for good…
Javon Baker is a guy that I wonder why he isn’t in the WR rotation more. Great hands and he can go up and get it; heard buzz about him in the Spring and in Fall practices that he was in contention for playing time and then not much so I figure there’s a reason. Looked great on his two targets tonight, albeit they were in garbage time…
Really impressed with Bryce Young. Love how he moves in the pocket yet keeps his eyes downfield, goes through his progressions, and rarely throws a bad pass…and he always seems calm and in control. Think we’re in good hands with him at the helm…

If you remember the way I do, Metchie had a great A day game when he was a Freshman, but played very little that year. There is so much more to playing wide receiver than just catching the ball. I would love to see Hall play more when he is ready. He is exciting to watch.

Agreed. He’s the best receiver on the team.

I agree and I think Latu will get drafted as well. We had some of our best plays with them both out there.
Slade seems to be that out option for Young when everything else is covered.
