He was a major source of the energy and attitude Alabama used to have. He kept the sideline energized during games. We don’t have that now. Ballou is just standing there on the sidelines.

I agree, we need someone with a similar mentality to Cochran.

I made this same point a bit ago. You’re very correct. He was also the one that Saban used to get players back in line when they were being knuckleheads or were poorly focused.

I am mixed but our season ending injuries have gone downhill since clap boy left.

I don't want Cochran back bug I do wang a S&C coach that instills a mentality of dominating your opponent. Maybe I'm wrong but Ballou seems like a numbers guy that overlooks the nuances of creating that mentality.

We are also much less physical, probably a correlation.

Ever notice how RB’s fall forward on us, our safeties are not thumpers.

Last few years, even 20, we weren’t as physical.

I like the idea of the fast getting faster. I recall Cochran was being blamed for all the injuries too. I have no idea what to think about that. But I have strong feelings about seeing an opposing running back with help from his teammates push the pile five to ten yards downfield on us over and over! That NEVER happened with Cochran!

Maybe that’s attributable to his departure, idk, but if so we’ve replaced that with a lack of intensity.

Saban is low energy and he has a bunch of coaches that are low energy. We don't have enough excitement and leadership energy on the team.......I have been critical of Smart, but he is energetic and you can see how bad he wants to win which bleeds down to the team....That is how we miss Cochran. He was always screaming and getting the team hyped. Calling out guys manhood to challenge them to step up. Quite honestly the energy has went down ever since he left.

Cochran put too much emphasis on dead lifts, bench presses, etc and not enough on flexibility and explosiveness. Was it his fault we had all of the ACL injuries? Probably not. Was a change in S&C warranted? I think so.

I just think the issue is so much bigger than one guy. It’s not just the OC or DC or even S&C. I think we have become a bloated bureaucracy that has become an echo chamber of yes men.

How many friggin analysts do we have? And not one can say, hey maybe blitzing #10 up the middle isn’t working? Or one that says maybe we should not allow Bryce to wait until .00001 seconds left on the play clock to snap the ball?

I just think we have a bigger problem than minor changes around the edges.

we need our strong guys strong. they're getting pushed around on both sides of the ball now. we need our fast quick twitch guys as fast and quick as possible. we need a s&c director that can accomplish both needs. plus get everything out of the guys they can give.
