Is that typical of the breed?
My mother got one when she was in college and fell in love with them. Had two while I was growing up as well. They seem very loyal but also stubborn at times. Not sure I'll pick that breed for my family but have had good experiences with them.
Funny enough, the new one she got will barely eat

The wife had one when we got married. We had her another 10-12 years, before she had to be euthanized. She was a good little dog. Not very bright, compared to my shepherd or Doberman, but good, for a small dog.

I want one. I’ve only heard good things about them. I just can’t get a small dog right now, with the maniacs that I have. I also want a dachshund. I just can’t right now

You need to think about that one. I had one for years. Let a leaf blow by the window and that dog went off. I could go shopping with the wife(no pics), come home and that dog would go off. Kids get home from school, that dog would go off.

I love spunky little dogs like that lol. One of my dogs, goes off like that right now, he’s around 65lbs though. Had to put him on a diet

My wife had one when we got married. The little fricker hates me and barks just to hear the sound of his own voice. My dog is a big dumb mutt who likes to sit on him.

I dated a girl that had a mini schnauzer. She was awful... would bite and scratch and yap all the time. The dog was the absolute best though!

Second best dog I ever had behind the French Bulldog I have now. Had a red one. Smart dog. I had no issues with him being hyper or barking so I guess it is true that all dogs are different but he was a smart dog and lived 14 1/2 years

Anyone here have a miniature Schnauzer?

I have a mini schnauzer and have had them all my life. Wonderful dogs, usually REALLY smart, well behaved, and just pleasant dogs to have.
Only thing is health issues, ours suffers from pancreatitis so she needs special low fat food and we don’t give her much people food outside of small pieces of vegetables or fruit.

So our puppy got into our son's room earlier today and apparently got into some chocolate wrapped in foil.
She's thrown up 6 times and won't eat. We need to take her to the vet right?

Probably best too. Dog that little and especially if she ate a good bit of chocolate.

We don't know how much she ate, but based on the foil in her puke it had to be a fair amount. On the way to the vet now.

What to Do if Your Dog Eats Chocolate
Vet is the right call. Vomiting is good. She's gotten some of it out. Best wishes!!

Vet gave her charcoal and she threw up 3 more times. Doing x-rays to see if the aluminum foil is all out. Also said we hopefully got her in before any neurological damage could set in.
I'm going to kill one of my kids if this dog doesn't come out of this ok. They know not to take food to their rooms.

Dog will probably be fine if it was milk chocolate. The darker the chocolate, the more dangerous it is for dogs. I’ve got a Goldendoodle that has eaten everything from panties to razors to chocolate chips and nothing seems to faze this crazy beast. He’s my buddy and I love him to death.

Had a an old lab rescue. Grumpy old dude but he got into a whole bag of Reese mini cups, in the tin foil wrapper. Was dropping gold nuggets for a week.

This actually made me laugh out loud. "Damnit son, if you are going to take chocolate to your room - eat it. Don't leave any for the dog to get sick on! What the frick is wrong with you?"
